^^^^ Mmmmmm Spacestar! Ticks all the boxes n'est ce pas? 4*100, choice of engines and easily upgradeable from other models in the range... tinyurl.com/75obwd6 £495 Rysz. Had forgotten about that one, I'd kinda dismissed the bubble shape 400 but maybe I'm ignoring the potential 1.6 K-series tempting!

Missed this thread altogether, I've been thinking about doing this quite a bit lately. Might I point you in the direction of: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=121919Granted some will be hard to find over here but you might source some inspiration from it. TBH I'm not sure what sort of size car you're after so I'll post two opposites Small: Toyota Paseo And large: Late model Primera I know, I've lost it, but those tail lights have something almost cadillacky about them and they are dead cheap to pick up and run (dare I say the D word?). Imagine a boso/VIP style one and hopefully you'll see the potential.

ooo some good suggestions going on here. Here are a few more to throw in the mixer: Primera mk1 - don't see many of them anymore! Mazda MX3/626/Xedos Hyundai Lantra or the piece de resistance, the winner imo Daihatsu Applause ;D looks like an impractical saloon though hang on a minute it's a very practical hatch ;D my neighbours had one but I haven't seen it since I moved in

Wish I could find an Applause! That Lantra looks suprisingly good too. I have just seen this though, friggin' bargain if you ask me. Looks mint and only 22k, mega tempting but I'm a little bit away on the money despite the fact these are hated I doubt this will hang around for long! www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C229351

I'd second a sunny, absolutely love my old one. No one knew what it was (most asked if it was a golf), 4x100 stud pattern for decent wheel choice and I'm sure something could be sorted suspension wise. They look good with so all done to them too. Hyundai would be good though. Saw one on advan (I think) TE37 style wheels at Brid cruise t'other night and got a pic especially. Shall upload soon as I get the chance.

Oh yes that Leganza works, I've never noticed how the ridges on the bonnet flow into the grill. Anyway Proton Wira's have appeared on my radar. I guess they a based on old Mitsubishi models?
