^^ That ^^ is every single shade of cool....and then some. It's like some deformed inbred lovechild which resulted from some seedy three way action between a Granada, a Mercedes SLC and a Cirtroen DS and I love it all the more for it. So quirky, so wrong and yet so right all at the same time. What an awesome find, nice one Dude! I'm hoping praying that Nige sees this thread and decides to bring one back to add to his collection. The decides he doesn't like it and sells it to me cheap (well, we can all wish, can't we?)

Never seen one of these before, looks like mk2 ghia alloys on it,tina rear lights,mk2 wing mirrors and lower spec mk2 Granada bumpers.strange looking thing indeed.front indicators look like old merc ones.......id really like one of those for myself just to be different.....even the steel wheels with caps look like gl/lx spec Granada ones. Id love to see it slammed on cream banded steels with Audi grey (non metallic) paint from the tt's. Wonder if there's any in this country? ?

with Audi grey (non metallic) paint from the tt's. Utterly pointless bit of info for you, but the Audi TT grey (proper name: Nimbus Grey) is actually a fine metallic pearl which looks solid in most lights. It's a beautiful colour and one of my faves...

Looking at the specs, it seems they were available with 2.3, 3.0 and 3.6 engines.

That twin headlight conversion on the orange one works soooooo much better than the Granada lights
I love the fact that all these old cars are/were until recently still being produced. These 'Falcons', the Morris Oxford, Monstro, etc etc.
I keep thinking how cool it would be to buy a brand new old car

I've seen a documentary about these before and found it very interesting. Apparently, the green ones, as shown above, were notoriously used by the secret police. According to the doco, most Argentinians above a certain age are still frightened by green Falcons, as people used to disappear in them and were never seen again. Ironically, in any other colour they were a status symbol and all of the owners were very proud of them. I like the updated models for their oddball-factor, but couldn't see myself owning one. The knowledge that they've spoiled such classic lines would ruin it for me.

I really shouldn't like the Ford Falcortina, but I do, especially that last one, which would be spot on with the orange one's headlights.

It does prove the theory I've had that de-chroming a car (or just blackening it) brings it up to date.

It looks vaguely Russian. I thought that too but I reckon the way some Ruskie cars evolved appears to be the same. They take a design that was at some point in history new and shiny and update it periodically with new chrome and/or plastics until the buying public stop buying.

Would look really good with a Rover SD1-style fastback.
