how come it has a front hinged bonnet?

I guess the bonnet is a custom affair, and they decided to do it that way I'm surprised the standard ones hinge at the back with all that weight at the front.

That looks very much like a "no-one would build it like that these days" kinda car. I love it, overstocked dash and all.

This is excellent. IIRC the mods were all carried out by Allard but I've never heard of another Allard-tuned Sprite so I guess it must be a one-off. Sold for quite a lot of money quite recently too. It's like a driving catalogue of 1960s bolt-on mods (and thus brilliant), my favourite being the external door handle fitted to the drivers' side - but not the passenger side!
