This cold weather is getting me down. I cant see the green traffic light at the end of the tunnel. I fancy some Hot Hatch inspiration if possible? I was going to be picky and say specifically Sport models like Rallyes, XR's, GT*'s etc etc. What subtle or impressive transformations have been done on the already 'desirable' hatchback models of our time? Not that I dislike others, but recently I've seen enough low and dished base spec models to last me a while. What have people got to offer? Even dressed/fake sport models will do! Here, have a Mk1 XR2 Lumo 105T crossflow turbo while you think of some:

In Classic Ford a couple of months ago there was a Fiesta Supersport that looked standard externally, but had a RWD conversion. These are the only pics I could find of it though, and they don't give a lot away...

con2k - The 'Rado is a 4 stud, so I assume G60 or probs turbo conversion with looks like that. Only guessing tho... The colour is a Porsche grey, which I think a lad with a mk2 astra on here has just painted his car in? darrenh - Sorry to crash the thread, but what did you do to your xe to bring it up to 220bhp? pm me if you don't want to spam the thread?

My Scirocco, tame mechanically compared to a lot in here, last working incarnation was a ~115bhp 1.6 turbo diesel: This is a friends Astra, ~170bhp 2l 8v, full stage spec, build in the 80's by safety devices to a similar chassis spec as the works cars ;D (Oh, and it's me co-driving in these shots :

One of my fave cars: P8310344 by retromotoring, on Flickr Tidy Mk2 Golf GTI... Nice colour... Ordinary wheels... Well... It was at one point the fastest FWD car in Europe, regularly runs 10-second quarter mile times at Santa Pod... 1.8T power... I love that car soooo much. It's effortless and so quiet as it rockets off the line with minimum fuss and hurls down the strip ;D James Hodson by retromotoring, on Flickr Big Bang 2008 by retromotoring, on Flickr

darrenh - Sorry to crash the thread, but what did you do to your xe to bring it up to 220bhp? pm me if you don't want to spam the thread? briefly, throttle bodies, MBE management, mild head work, 286 cams, 87mm omega pistons 11:1CR (making (2047cc), btb manifold, 2.5" exhaust, 8100 rev limit. stack of other mods which don't really contribute to power, just safety and build quality
