I am in the process of restoring my Volvo 360 GLS turbo, it is having a roll cage fabricated in a few weeks, and then when it's back I am hoping (expecting) to be to make speedy process on the reassembly. With much nicer parts than standard wherever possible.
So, brakes. I am going to be running 13" 3 piece wheels and need a decent setup that will not foul. What are peoples experience of the AP 4 pots from the turbo Metros?
I haven't heard great things concerning them, but at the same time, I haven't really dug too deep. A mate has some on his Mini, but it's never used lol.
My car will weigh about 950kg/a tonne I guess, i would like it lighter, but I also want to keep glass windows etc. Inside will be two cf buckets, cage, battery, dash and not a lot else.
What do we think then, are these little AP's up to it or do I need to look elsewhere? I am not ashamed to say that part of the reason I want 4 pots is so they look nice between the spokes lol. Main reason is so I can stop though!
Wilwood midlites and the like look like they would do the job, but I am not spending that much on a tiny brake setup. Maybe when I upgrade to 15's in the future.
Any advice or suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks, Liam.
