Hi folks,
A quick question for any builder / DIY folks reading this
Our back yard already has a roof to give us some storage out of the rain.
I'm now looking at putting a picture window and double glazed door into the "--open--" section to convert the back yard into a dry, secure storage room.
Does anyone know ... will I need planning permission / building regs / what is needed
Other info :
Area is small (approx height=6", wide 10", length 12-20")
We are in rural County Durham (North East UK) if that makes any difference...
Neighbours can be unpredictable so I'm trying to make sure I do things by the book in case they start complaining once it's up

... = our yard
X = our outhouse & next doors extension (which sticks out more than our outhouse)
\ = our back door into yard
* = back wall of our house
This has become a sooner-rather-than-later project as I've just been given a picture window which means we now have 90% or what we need to finish the job ;D
Any word of wisdom or useful links gratefully received
Many thanks !
