Thought I'd better post this up. Not much to say as yet, other than here's a few pictures of the journey from it's home for the last 25 years to a space in my garage. Can't tell you much about the car other than it was driven from Surrey to Swindon in 1986 to be restored and lived there ever since. I start on a journey to get it back on the road. First job was to swap the flat tyres and release the detached rear brake lining - not easy to push off the trailer with two flats and a locked wheel! Second job, give it a wash. At least its the dry now, so as it progresses I'll post more pictures...

Just clean the windows , get it MOT ready and leave the rest as it is - forget rat look, abandoned look must be the next big thing!

Hi,
A30's are awesome, I bought one about 18 months ago and found it to be a great starter classic.
If you haven't done so already join the owners club, it's a very large, well supported club and its not expensive. They also have an excellent spares scheme, almost everything is available for one of these.
So what are your plans? I'm upgrading to Midget front brakes (with remote servo) and a 1098 engine for a bit more go, then that will be it, a cheap and very usable car thats over 50 years old!
Welcome to Retro Rides too.

Plan is:
1 - give it a wash (done) 2 - clear out all stuff inside (not done) 3 - clear out garden shed so i can get 2 above done 4 - sort out the holes in the floor and anywhere else that come to light (as they do, you'll see the pictures) 5 - get brakes working so i can actually move it without fear of not being able to stop it 6 - get engine running 7 - have a cuppa tea or a beer or both - probably repeat this step at intervals as appropriate 8 - sort out the wiring that looks like a fire waiting to happen 9 - anything else to get an MOT on it and take it out on the road where it should be (suspension and steering spring to mind) 10 - might wash it again
that'll be 18 months i recon given the weekends available. Looks good though. Great Christmas present to self I'd say.

Deffienietly agree about the club, have helped me out and plenty of people on the forum that know alot of stuff, whether original details or how to modify one. And the Turbo'ed A35 is owned by Dave Clark/Tadge44, has a 1275cc engine and quite alot more power than a standard A35.
