so, as it goes i realised today i hadnt got the girlfriend anything for xmas. after a lot of searching i decided i could nevere find anything in any shop that i would want to give her, so after a look round charity/secondhand/general electronics i found these. (phone and screwdriver not included) cutting relevant wires, After some cutting, splicing, testing, jiggery pokery, more splicing, cutting and finally soldering we end up with this contraption. ...which does this, Pretty useless, but i thought it would be cool. And perfect for the girl who has everything.

You should make what remains of the phone (i.e. the base with buttons on) as a stand for her phone, that way, she can stand her phone in it and talk on the receiver as if shes using the landline

That'd be great on my i-Phone for using Skype - whenever I want to see the person I'm skyping I can never hear them properly through the crappy speaker and vice versa when there's background noise!
