It's 427's fault...he posted this picture: ...in the No rhyme, no reason thread. I had to know more. After a bit of 'Stang chasing around the internets I found a build thread: This is where he started. Photoshop of how he wanted it to look. Build: Finished: I love this car. Stock body and paint, modernised powertrain, updated interior, perfect stance. www.newyorkmustangs.com/forums/pro-touring-1979-pace-car-build-t20378.html

Slightly less rim and slightly more tyre and it's be perfect. To be honest, I think the wheel/tyre proportions looked better to start with . There's plenty of other good stuff going on under there to make up for it though

Perhaps in a darker colour without the two tone or striping.

Perhaps in a darker colour without the two tone or striping. What would be the point of that!? The whole basis of the project is that it's in the official Pace Car scheme. It would be like building a custom version of the General Lee, then painting it green with Spongebob on the roof...

What VIP said the livery is kinda the point of it.
IIRC they did do them with that livery from the factory with the 2.3 turbo Lima engine, as some kind of special edition?

They've done it with many of the Pace Cars for the Indianapolis 500 over the years. The chosen manufacture for the official Pace Car also provides a load of replica 'Festival' cars that are in a standard tune state, and these normally get sold off after the event. 1979 Ford Mustang 1981 Buick Regal 1987 Olds Aurora 2004 Chevrolet Corvette 2009 Chevrolet Camaro

There's plenty of other good stuff going on under there to make up for it though I think if it was done 'flush' instead of with tuck, same wheels, but 1" smaller it'd be just right. Still pretty awesome though!

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.
