while out and about at work this week i was told about a special car that was lurking at the bottom of the workshop i was at, so of i went to have a peak.......... and this is what i found. yes it's an Aston 177 so nothing you havent seen before, but this one has had some money spent on it, not on the engine or suspension but on the inside, take a look at the picture of the inside, see the silver metal around the vent's, centre console, door pulls ? There was some more here and there but not much, well it's not silver it's made of Iridium (look it up on google) and it will set you back a very cool £70,000 pounds ! if you wanted to be a cheap skate you can have it in Gold at £50,000 pounds, some other prices that got thrown up were....... the headlight £6000 each without fitting ! the Door with no paint etc just the door £25,000 each the crystal key £1000 the road Tax £1000 but when you buy on of these cars at £1,250,000 you get an Aston cygnet for free ;D the car is a very nice car though if a bit batmobil, rusty

Cool modified cars we do.
Brand new, not Retro influenced cars we don't.

I hope that last pic was the development mule, 'cos the panel fit is shocking. First pic looks OK.

I love the One-77, not just for the looks and performance, but for what it represents: complex, handbuilt craftsmanship - uncompromising, and with no easy options. We may well not see its like again either.

I like.
On the subject of expensive options... I used to have an FD Victor and the rear screen had that same "invisible" wire for the heating element used in moderns for front screens. It added about 10% to the cost of the car to have it fitted! I've only ever seen two of them.

Because its a "gas guzzler". The punitive road tax for high pollution new cars is like a grand. I think that's only in the first year and then it drops to like £600 a year after that.

yes it's a modern but all the cars we have were once moderns too, but on with the show as they say, got some more pictures for you all to look at, i took pic's of the bit's you would not see if it was on the road etc, enjoy one of the rear suspension through the back window. one from under the bonnet showing the 7.3 litre lump and F1 style suspension. this one reminds me of an Ohlins shock . inside the door, the car is made of rather alot of Carbon fibre. rear defuser and exhaust. under tray's again made of Carbon fibre the road tax starts at £1000 for the first year then drops to £450 after that, hope you like, rusty

Thanks for sharing. Its how the 'other half' live. I like the Aston - but spending that much money on a car when half the world cannot afford to eat is questionable. I'm sure that, that car will never see a track and mainly be used to ferry the owner between Knightsbridge and Kensington.

i have worked on Aston's for about 23 year's now and the early one's build quality was horendus, not Dd4's Db5's etc but the db7's upwards you know the one that has the ford keys, baby v8's don't work as the tec's tel me, but this car was something special, the build quality is beautiful, the owner of this has a brother who has another one of these and has just had a new set of wheels and tyres fitted to his because they look abit shabby after all the track days he has done in it, the wheels on the car above cost £12,000 without tyres, don't know the cost of the tyres but some of the other Aston's tyres cost £500 a corner, i agree on the coment of how the other half live, i still love Retro's more than i do moderns, just thought it would be cool to show you this as i has the wow factor, rusty

Thank you for posting that. It may be modern but as a show of craftmanship, engineering and design it is has to be included on this forum Is it me, or is there a valve inside the right exhaust tailpipe? (noise reduction?)

I'd be reluctant to rule this one out on age alone. I wouldn't want to see RR full of predictable supercars, but the occasional example like this can certainly inspire us.

The suspension on that is awesome. Its funny how beautiful a purely functional thing can be made to look.
However at £1.25 million I would be terrified to trackday it.
