My mate has a D-reg celica sitting in his garden getting in the way. Not a bad car relly looks like the one stuiyzz brought to CARS
Its a D-reg, 2.0L (Turbo i think), 4WD too
I know it was an import but don't know much about them, apparently they were not avalible in the UK.
Is it any good? worth saving or are the engines worth a few bob?

sounds like a celica GT4.... I think they were sold in the UK, not a great lot of them though.

Would be one of these I should think - ST165, reasonably similar to the ST185 really.

My favourite of the GT4 Celica's Beautifully 80's. Kinda wouldn't mind buying my workmates ST162 GT-R Celica (non turbo 3S-GE version) as a daily... The ST165 GT4's are so much more stealth than the later ones though, they just don't have all the scoops and wings and lairy bits. Gen 1 3S-GTE, the motors aren't really that sought after, because there are better 2.0l turbo Japanese 4 cylinder engines out there, namely the SR20DET, CA18DET, and the 4G63T... the 3S-GTE isn't known so much for being a revvy motor. That said, they're a strong motor, but the standard CT26 turbo's are fairly limited in their applications unless you hi flow them, and fit a steel exhaust wheel, but by that stage you're better off uprating the turbo anyway due to cost vs. gain factors.

ooh- love ST165's myself, and they need rescuing! getting rarer and rarer- peeps are just scrapping em at the mo cos they cost a lot to put right, and a rough one will only be worth a few hundred pounds second hand. OK so it only has 188 BHP, but i think its the lightest GT4- so drop in a motor from an ST185 (couple of hundred second hand) and a few add ons, and you will have a cheap 225 BHP 4WD rally car ;D
