For sale - Ford Puma 1.7 Zetec-S engine (Yamaha) as a complete conversion package.
When I say complete, I do mean COMPLETE. This includes the following items:
Complete engine
All ancillaries
5sp gearbox
Gearbox linkage/levers
FULL wiring loom (See below)
ECU
Coded key
Fuseboxes & relays
Fuel pump & housing/mounting
Hydraulic clutch pipework
Airbox & pipework (Inc air flow meter)
Engine mounts (all of them)
Speedo/dash pod
Radiator
Front calipers & discs
(there is bound to be more but you get the idea)
I bought a complete Puma for a project which we were about to undertake, but for various reasons, the project was terminated and the engine conversion is now surplas to requirements. After purchasing the Puma, I drove it home 130 miles in order to make sure it had a good engine/box etc.... It is.
The engine runs beautifully. Starts first turn of the key and sounds very, very sweet. It pulls really well and doesn't smoke at all. I was 100% happy to have this engine for the project and would happily fit it if the project hadn't been halted. It is a very good engine.
When we removed it, we did so with the intention of making the conversion as straightforward as possible, so every single part of the wiring loom was removed from the car. 100% of it...from the front lights, right the way through to the rear lights and everything in between. All of it. As each wire was unplugged, it was labelled properly so that each & every connector can be identified and correctly plugged in when refitting.
This pic shows the rear of the loom being disconnected as well as the interior etc...as I say, it's the complete loom so nothing has been cut/chopped or is missing. This will make a conversion MUCH easier.
You can clearly see the labels on each part of the loom that has already been removed in this photo
It doesn't get more thorough than this:
The only things that were cut on removal were the fuel lines (cut quite far back to give lots of spare), the AC pipework (we weren't going to be using the AC in the conversion), the powersteering pipes (we were going to make up new ones if keeping the PS) and the ends of the driveshafts near the outer CV because we were going to be using custom driveshafts due to the Puma ones being too long for the conversion.
We were very, very thorough with the removal and very careful too. This wasn't removed for a quick 'sell it on' like an eBay car breaker would - but to use on one of our own projects, so we kept everything neat & clean to make the conversion much easier.
Even the downpipe from the exhaust manifold is intact and not cut...so as you can see, everything is complete and in good order.
Even things like the fuel pump/sender were kept, but we also went a bit further and cut out the mount for the pump from the fuel tank so that it could be utilised easily in the conversion
I currently only have these photos from when we removed the engine/loom etc...but can take some current shots to show all the various elements of the conversion package if you like?
£300 takes the whole package and I doubt you will find a conversion as complete as this, without buying and breaking a car yourself. We've done that bit of the hard work for someone else to now beneift from.
£300 collected from Bristol. More photos to come (hopefully tomorrow night)
