Hi!
Binz is a german coachbuilder. They started converting cars to taxis and ambulances in the 30's. They also buildt trucks and convertibles based on various other cars. After the war they switched to building truck cabins. Many of them were Mercedes. They soon started to build other stuff; taxis, convertibles, stretched cars and ambulances, like before the war. They sort of specialised in converting Mercedes cars. Which seems logical as they are located closely to Mercedes, in the suburb of Stuttgart.
Today they are mainly known for they'r Mercedes based estates, ambulances and especially hearses.
Enough of the bla bla - some historic examples:
And last but not least, the stuff they do today:
Not long ago, Binz didn't mean a thing to me - but with my growing (Merc) estate obsession I got very interessted. That's the reason I have bore you with that stuff ;D
Cheers,
Jan
