apologies for the lack of price in the title, this is my friend mark's car, a 1965 ford zephyr, manual with column change! i have personally driven this car and it runs, mark had driven it on trade plates to and from work a few times, sounds awesome with a custom exhaust and REALLY nice custom intake manifold setup for twin carbs (although currently has 1 weber, 1 blanking plate) body is very patina'd!!! the bad points i remember are some welding needed, a waterleak, and the brakes all needed attention (he has a mot fail) anyway my plea is as follows, someone has put the windows through, and mark just called me saying he wants to break this for parts down to the shell then use it for pre-70s bangers this would be a crying shame, and i swear if i had the money, any money that is, i'd save it myself. he wants to break it but a good offer (between you and me i reckon anything the good side of 400 would take it) the logbook is still on his way to him. heres the few pics i have, i also have a vid of it running which i will try to upload. i would really love this to be saved by someone! marks number: 07837 190 806 may need to leave a message with your number during the day. also worth noting, he has a flatbed, he is a bit traveller, if you wave money at him deliveries will happen so don't let distance be an object in saving this old girl!!! regards, mike.

Wow! That's awesome.
Do you know which windows have been put through by any chance? Also, any idea on what welding is needed?
I would ring the number myself, but I can't get any signal despite trying.
Thanks, Bruce.

i think the windscreen or rear screen may have escaped injury due to it being the full width of the garage so you cant get to the back/front depending which way round its parked. welding if i recall was just sills, i saw the fail and it was mostly brakes and lightbulbs, it had been on the road until its mot when it failed mark bought it as a project (he works at the garage that mot'd it) it really wasnt that bad and i was so looking foward to getting it on the road, even looked up the stud pattern and that, 5 by 114.3, was going to get some jeep cherokee rims and low-pros previous owner was in a hot rod club (solent renegades i think) hence the exhaust/inlet. i am swamped with ill relatives and work at the mo but i will try and get round this week / weekend for some more up to date pics, those are only from 6 or so weeks ago though, nothing changed excpet the glass-smashing-scrotes it genuinely is an awesome car and saddens me to think of it being raced

I *believe* side glass is flat on these so easy. The front/rear screens are obtainable cheap if you wait about for them... I'm more than out of space and money Bruce - get it!

Phonecall made - front screen has gone, so has all the glass in both offside doors (but as Akku says, it's flat on the sides)
Needs brakes overhauling, head gasket and some electrical work.
Welding wise needs some attention in boot floor, passenger & drivers floorpans and a few places along the sills, but the doors and main panels are pretty good/solid.
I have offered him a good home for it so fingers crossed it'll be heading to Area 52 to be worked on alongside the Fairlane. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from him. I do want to see it in the flesh though before parting with any readies, so a trip to the coast at the weekend looks like it might be in order.
"Honey, fancy a trip to the coast this weekend? Ice creams are on me" ;D

woop woop! sorry my memory was a bit vague with the welding!!! I remember going straight to the west sussex pub meet and raving to hardcore and colonelelk about it haha! if all goes well ill pop over and say hi if I can.
I just sent him a pleading message saying I know it would be looked after if you got it haha!
if he is meant to be getting back to you and doesnt, send me a message, the combo of young child / nagging mrs / awful memory and no credit always play against him, so i'll happily be middle man.

Thanks Dude.
I did tell him to ask you all about me/Area 52 - just in case he thought I was looking to buy it to race. I'd love to see it on the road, I've never owned an old Ford myself and quite fancy one now I look at ^ that ^ while picturing it a little bit lower on some nice wheels but leaving that patina as it is.
Hmmm, the more I think about it, the more I am glad my 'near' purchase yesterday didn't happen. It's not 100% that I'll be buying it yet, but I hope I can.
I'm off to look at the Z owners club to see about the availability of glass....

n ill just leave this with you, the jeep rims I was thinking would look nice... mike I had some Jeep Snowflakes, and currently have a set of Pepperpots I'm trying to get shot off. They'd look nice repainted (someone's detailed mine with a garden hose) on a Zephyr. Bar one old nutter with a '3.2 Vauxhall' (no other information offered) they failed to sell at Stoneleigh, so give me a shout if they sound like something you'd fancy Bruce.

Make that four people Bryn - I have it too ;D You sent it to me after I'd been on that location with the Delica last year - remember? Before I'd even seen the whole picture I knew what it was/where it was. If I do manage to buy the car, might be giving you a call about those rims. If you might somehow be thinking of passing them on to a worthy project ;D
