Righto up for sale is my Audi 80 tdi avant ive had the car the last year as my daily drive.
Never had any issues with the car always been a very reliable & never let me down even in bad weather.
Car has a decent spec for the age but is still pretty simple to work on if needed.
SE spec means it has electric windows all round, electric mirrors, electric tilt and slide sunroof, power steering, abs & central locking.
Its also very practical and has a vast bootspace which is huge if you fold down the split rear seats has come in handy when moving house
Its also very economical it usually worked out between 50-55mpg & I don't exactly drive like miss daisy, huge tank so its ace on a run I managed 680 miles to a tank before filling up.
Also due to it having the much stronger Bosch VP37 fuel pump it can be run on veg oil or bio diesel with no modifications, just make sure you change the fuel filter regularly.
Never ran it myself as it was great on fuel as it is but I have read up on a few trusted forums to confirm this.
Its got the 1z 1.9 tdi intercooled engine with the larger t2 garret turbo, ok its got 180k on it but its got a full folder of receipts and dealer service book to back up servicing and miles.
For those who don't know have a look on clubtdi.com these engine can run to 350k+ with no work as long as they are well serviced, also they are very tuneable if you go down the big injectors, modified fuel pump & hybrid turbo route and can see upwards of 200bhp with no internal mods.
I brought the car bog standard & fully intended to keep it that way but couldn't resist messing so carried out a few mods my self:
Engine wise is pretty standard, was 90bhp but I fitted 110bhp injectors out of a 1999 seat leon which made a huge improvement
Removed and blanked off the troublesome EGR valve and de-coked the inlet manifold.
De-catted the exhaust and removed all box's bar the back box which has made it spool up on boost a lot sooner, hardly made it any louder just a bit more turbo whistle which is all good in my eyes!
Estimate it at around 110-115bhp, keeps up with my mates gt gti 110 golf anyway.
Outside the car ive gone a bit euro style/S2 rep, its got a black leather car bra, removed the arial, fitted a genuine S2 front bumper which was a female dog to get hold of and an audi 90 saloon rear numberplate recess which was also a pain to find & fit.
Trimmed back and polished twin tailpipes
Although not fitted in pics also comes with pressed german style numberplates.
Sits on 15" RH Topline wheels, suit the car but could do with blowing over.
Also have a set of the quattro speedline fake splits to go with the car.
Inside its got a 3spoke audi sport leather steering wheel, illuminated dash vent mounted boost guage.
Comes with S2 cream heated leathers which are uber comfy but the front two seats are abit tatty with a small hole on the driver side bolster, rears are mint with a pimp little centre arm rest and rear headrests.
Also has a full set of S2 cloth trim if the leather isn't to your taste in dark blue with the quattro script running through it.
Will come fitted with a high end £250 at the time kenwood head unit with mp3, ipod input etc etc and a amp wiring kit fitted.
Brakes have been swapped to a set of 2.8 v6 quattro set up with larger vented disks, claipers & carriers as stock effort was pretty dire.
don't know exactly how low but I would guess 100mm lower than stock on a set of spax psx adjustable shocks with wietec springs, pretty harsh ride to be honest but all the adjuster are un siezed so could be made softer, also have a set of 40mm springs if your abit lame and cant hack the lows
Bad points:
Obviously no mot but it has not long expired, last time it was up on the ramps their where no signs of corrosion very solid cars better than vw's of this era with fully galvanised bodies.
The handbrake is very poor though which could just be adjustment to the cables / new cables needed.
Can hear no wheelbearing noise even though its a common need on these but it does knock abit over bumps due to it being so low. I think it needs bushs and possibly droplinks on the front for mot so not a massive amount.
Anyone interested is welcome to come & fully inspect the car & I could probably get it up on my mates ramps if needed.
Also rear boot handle is broken as I tried to cut it down due to the 90 saloon rear panel, I can get hold of one if needed though
Body has a few age related marks but is pretty straight with no major dents, scratches or rust visible. save for a little lacquer peel by the mirror.
All in all makes an ace daily, or even tow car or with some work could be a cool cheap euro look barge to go edition 38 in, always gets comments & a good response from people.
Only reason for sale is a bora came up for sale that I wanted for the right price so got a new dub project to play with.
Price is £550ono not really interested in swaps unless its bora/mk4 golf related parts or some dirty dished rims etc etc
Car can be viewed anytime just give me a ring on 07835000056 its located 10 min from B'ham city centre close to J7 of the M6.
Cheers Tobi
