;D It looks like I'll be keeping the mk1 Astra as it's not worth what it owes me... (How often is this true?!) I am in danger though... Danger of not doing aything with it. So I need some help, some guidance please! Originally I was thinking of some 14" wheels, spacers at the back, some looooooooooowness and some period add ons. I'm open to suggestions though, so please, fire away Tom

Personally I'd just repaint the wheels silver and keep it as it is, It's rare to see such a clean, unmessed with early Astra these days.
Keep it till show season next year and just show it and enjoy it.

Congratulations on keeping it ;D
Thing is, you really could do anything you want to it. There are a multitude of parts and styles that you could apply that would all be reversible if you wanted. Anything from an engine swap to coilovers, interior changes... With an early Astra the choices are endless.
Logic would dictate that you should never spend more on a car than it is worth, but we all have so now you have the right to do whatever you want to it. So you decide, start with the plan you have and go from there ;D

40mm drop on springs AND shockers. Aset of nice 15" alloys, something like tsw stealths or momo arrows. Bit of an interior update, acouple of black reclining bucket seats in the front, have the rears and door cards done to match. Nice exhaust like a `80`s peco. You`ll have yourself a nice little sleeper that will still get noticed.Try not to go too `scene` with curse word hung from the mirror and loads of stickers. Oh and change the orange indicators for clear ones! All this is only imo and you`ll get a different one from every person on here, which makes the place so good.

personally I think trigger is right, my way of looking at it is.. if it needs work then do it + some extra. its its flawless or close to it, perhaps just stay true to it. furthest id go with that myself (assuming its near mint) is drop it a bit lower and give her some suitable (retro styled) 14-15 inch wheels, off the top of my head id say alleycats. or maybe even ats cups/classics. (edit _ banded steels... wellers maybe)
enjoy it either way and look after her ;-) many people wll enjoy seeing it at shows whatever you chose to do it it.

Thanks for the replies guys I see what you mean about keeping it standard but I get quite bored pretty easily... I don't want to do anything that can't be put back to standard easily though. To coin a 'scene' phrase, I quite like the idea of modding it in an OEM+ style...? I do like the style of this 309 though I would love some Wellers or banded steels but finding them seems to be impossible Bryn... Spending more that it's worth... There's no danger of that mate
