Now that, I would love to happen.... (sos for nicking your title!) Thanks for the comments dudes, much appreciated it's a bit of a dream car for me and I was holding out for a manual trans one! It's quite not as together as it looks in the pics, it needs work to finish, but it has some very good points aside form the spec, the whole interiors been retrimmed in soft black leather, (bye bye sticky Yankee vinyl), it's actually a later car so had 4 wheel power brakes and the big t-top hatches... Hoping to get it back together in time for a few end of season events, if not it'll be an over winter job... Thinking about some different wheels though, any ideas?

I hope you've seen the car in person and not just bought it on the strength of the photos.

It's sitting outside my house, so yeah i've seen it... why do you know something about it?
It's not as good as it looks in the photos, but nothing that cant be sorted with a winter in the garage....

I don't know anything about that one. However i did go with my brother to look at a '79 he had that needed a little TLC in his opinion and looked quite presentable in the photos. My opinion differed somewhat. Not a problem if you've viewed the car though. ;D

Yeah, it wasn't as nice as I'd hoped, but i'd been holding out for a black on black manual trans am for about a decade now, so i it the bullet and went for it!
The only real problem is the paint, it looks nice but was obviously a cheap job, badly masked up, even the exhausts got painted! I've got a chap who'll re-do it for me and it wont need a lot of prep as i cant find much filler or rust under it and i want it straight black not metallic, so it's not a bother, it will make a nice car when done, just gotta spend a few weeks on it!
