Swines, hope it comes back.
I'm MK based so I'll keep my eyes peeled. What part was it stolen from?

mk2 cavs are quite a rare sight nowadays so hopefully this will be difficult for them to pass on the car as a whole or any parts, I do really hope this turns up in one piece for you having went through the same experience last year.

Woooppppppeeeeeeee ;D ;D ;D
One of my mates spotted the Cav behind his house down an alley that he knows as a dumping spot for cars. He thought he recognised it and rang me this morning just in case before he called the police. We instantly went over to recover it. It is now home.
Damage is much as expected. Steering column top area badly damaged, radio ripped out but still there. However, it has been reversed or crashed into a skip or wall so there is damaged back panel/bumper/quarter panel/tailgate and missing trim.
Apart from that all seems OK. It had done about 60 miles and still had over half a tank of fuel in it. Looks like it was taken mainly for the 3 mile trip home from the pub.
Huge relief and thanks to everyone's thoughts and help.
John

Good to hear it's back, hopefully the damage should be repairable quite easily.
Quite a lot going missing round MK lately...

Thanks for your comments.
Looks to be not too bad. The steering column etc had been done and the hatch repair is well underway. What wonderful tools hydraulic rams are!
It could have been a lot worse. I was very lucky. Next time to nick it will need a tow or lift.

We now know it was used to ram raid our local Costcutter store. Hit the shop front twice and did the best part of £10k damage to it, the Cavalier's tailgate now virtually repaired.
Very lucky to get it back, they must have been confident that they did not leave any prints.
Pretty strong are Mk2 Cavaliers!
