As above , has anyone on this forum shipped a motor vehicle from there and if so what was the procedure and above all what was the price? Was it worth it?

I'm just in the process of shipping a car from oz,will probably be similar tho.
Its pretty expensive,2k for a 40ft container with 2 cars or 2.5k for a 20ft container with one,roro is a lot cheaper but apparently takes twice as long,and no garuantee it wont get damaged.
You have to be sure its something you really want ;D

Let us know what it is you are looking for...like everywhere else there is a lot of shysters around. If at all possible, I can have a look for you beforehand.
Roro is usually between us and Japan as far as I know, since you are not allowed to import any used vehicles here - mostly japanese used stuff is going into central Africa via our harbours.
Yummy stuff going by and we are not allowed to buy them sucks somewhat.

All those can be done, but would cost to get shipped.
If you can find something that is cheap here and can be sold at profit in the UK to cover your costs then you can fill the rest of the space with your spare panels?
Nissan 1400 you get new replacement skins for real cheap. Cortina you will have to find something used that is better than yours...

Been thinking about bringing it over for a while but have been quoted crazy prices by the Zim companies who could do it for me. Getting it to SA wouldn`t be a problem, its getting it from there here. |

I think your problem with exporting from Zim is that it needs to be processed and then transported from there without being driven in SA at all, to comply to export laws. If you would drive it here and then want to export it you would probably need proof that it was imported into SA first.

Valiant Charger - have a feeling these were badged as something else for the SA market but I can't think what it was.... Did you get the XD and XE falcon range too? |

We didn't get the XD or XE... You can get an original, clean & restorable Fairmont GT for anything from R150 000 and up. Lots of real pretty replicas around so be careful, the real owners aren't to keen to let our cars leave the country and the sheisters are ready to take you for a ride. You are probably talking the Aussie style Valiant Charger. We did get the Valiant Barracuda..some call their cars Chargers..but I'm not sure they were sold as such. They aren't worth that much as they were sold with the slant 6 (a good engine, but no muscle car) I've seen running & complete ones that needs a full restoration for as little as R15 000.  |

We didn't get the XD or XE... You can get an original, clean & restorable Fairmont GT for anything from R150 000 and up. Lots of real pretty replicas around so be careful, the real owners aren't to keen to let our cars leave the country and the sheisters are ready to take you for a ride. You are probably talking the Aussie style Valiant Charger. We did get the Valiant Barracuda..some call their cars Chargers..but I'm not sure they were sold as such. They aren't worth that much as they were sold with the slant 6 (a good engine, but no muscle car) I've seen running & complete ones that needs a full restoration for as little as R15 000.

Plenty of name swapping going on there obviously! With potential confusion resulting, since Barracuda was a less closely related to Valiant by then, & car shown the US Dodge Demon / Plymouth Duster which still carried over the old Valiant/Dart floorpan (& door skins).
