Bargain!
Bloody good cars - I had the newer shape to that in Saloon form - 9-5 Aero HOT, the 2.3 Turbo on a 56 plate - only owned it briefly but it was an amazing car. My brother-in-law has it now and swears by it.

Currently run a 2005 (last of the pre-dame Edna) Aero HOT Estate as a family wagon.
Brilliant car. Mega mid-range punch for passing Saxo's and the like and brilliant for stealthy progess making!
Spec from 2002 is 2.3 250bhp at 5500rpm, 258lb.ft (350Nm) at 1900rpm
Around 7secs 0-60 and limited to 155mph.
I'm getting around 25mpg average, but this is 100% urban sub 3 mile trips. It goes up to an easy 32-35mpg (less depending on speed) on a motorway run.
The only trouble I have is not pressing on all the time, especially with the full BB set on-board, as it is so easy to slip into 3 figures!

And here is a SAAB 600 for you to chew as a reward for your fine car buying efforts  PS your trick now is finding a replacement that is half as good for anything like the same money. I've been thinking about replacing our for over 6 months, but everything I look at is slower, far less spec, twice the price, older, more prone to breaking, etc. At this rate I'm going to be keeping the BlackBrick until it dies a death! And this is from a man who has changed cars at least once every year since passing my test in 1994! |
