The weird thing at the top of the page was built by the son of the importer, he started building it when he was 13 and it's based on a Lloyd. It's a "1953 Evertson Special Coupe". Worthy of a really dark corner in the museum I think.

Similarly, the Nissan importers in Norway have fantastic selection of old stuff going back to the very early 60's. I had the pleasure of driving one of their cars, a cute little 1969 Sunny 1000, when I visited in 2000. Sadly, Nissan Norge is no more  Their HQ at Drammen has been closed down and the collection sold off. All Norways Nissan operations is now directed from Helsinki I believe. The one good thing to come out of it though is Svein Erik now owns their entire archive and all the remaining old stock etc  |

This isn't a manufactureres museum but It is rather good, in a really lovely part of frnce and it has a track next to it that does loads of trackdays : www.manoir-automobile.fr/welcome/index.phpIt's owned by a guy that runs the french magazine echappment (exhaust) which is a cross between Track & race car, motoring news and classic cars. |

Peugeot actually have another museum open to the public at the Poissy factory, www.caapy.net/web/index.php?view=indexIts for all the brands that manufactured there, Simca, Chrysler, Talbot, Peugeot and..Ford SAF. |

The BMW Museum is fantastic, I've been two or three times over the years: www.bmw-welt.com/...but it's shut til 2007 ;D From what I can gather, there is an outdoor exhibition in the grounds nearby, I'll be checking that out in a couple of weeks or so!  The museum is (was) the BMW roundel-topped building:  Surely one of the coolest motor manufacturer buildings evAr ;D |

I've been to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart too: www.porsche.com/international/faq/museum/it's quite small. If you're a massive Porsche fan it's worth making a detour for, but I wouldn't make it the central highlight of a european holiday Non manufacturer museums that I'd HIGHLY recommend are the Rosso Bianco collection in Aschaffenburg and the HUGE HUGE museum in Sinsheim (both in Germany). WELL worth a visit |
