Additional Information:
This is a very useful car that I purchased to take four of us to the French Alps and back with our mountainbikes and kit all inside. I purchased it from the 3rd owner (company owned for 1 year and then a mature husband and sadly, his widow for the last 7 years.
I was told that the 2 litre turbo engine was replaced at about 90k - it appears to be in great shape. The turbo works fine and boost gauge functions well.
Its a great car and looks very good for it's age. There is no rust, you rarely get rust on these models, and it runs well. It had done about 2000 miles since the last MOT before our 1600 mile Alps trip.
Freshly MOT'd at the local council depot for an honest assessment - only 4 minor advisories (quote):
Front brake pads wearing thin
light corrosion on f/o/s inner flitch panel
handbrake requires adjustment
Repairs to exhaust front pipe (couple of small holes which are holding fine)
Uses no oil or water and there are no leaks
Starts first time every time
Stable temperature gauge reading
Seven seat bench in the boot and is easy to raise and lower
Radio cassette
Automatic
Central locking
Headlamp wash/wipe
Power steering
Leather interior with heated front seats
Electric windows all work
Daylight running side lights
Maintained locally in the previous owners village
Early stamped Volvo handbooks
4 recent tyres with great tread
Alloys are in good condition
HPI clear
V5C present
Some minor bad points:
Slight dent on rear bumper / tailgate but does not affect boot closing etc.
A few scuffs here and there, worst is on O/S front bumper
Some wear to drivers seat bolster
I've actually got quite attached to it and am tempted to keep it but it just won't get used due to my other cars!
