Got this in for a respray ;D Now being a heavy handed neanderthal fool I don't do body work but i'm stripping pre and rebuilding post spray so I thought i'd share the rusty little bugga with you all and i'll update when "stuff" happens ;D First job is too sand blast the 2 SH wings he has for it that'll be happening later this week when I find me gazeebo they are to replace these. Still it has a nice int and drives very well, I think i'll be polybushing it whilst it's in as well ? Getting all those screws out the webasto will be fun I recon, drill on standby

That's a lovely old thing, Bortaf. I like the interior a lot, it has a good patina without being worn. Its a good colour too and looks as luxurious as a Jag.
Are you respraying the same colour or going for a change?

I really like that colour, and the patina. But still patina soon turns to rust and that's no good. Nice motor.

A nice old thing indeed! Will be great to see this being brought up to scratch. Interior is lovely on that . Word of warning with regards. Unless the fastenings look familiar (and I mean very familiar) try to go easy on them. If it is a Britax sunroof spares are near non existant for them, thanks to Webasto buying them out many years ago... Of course if it is a Webasto (it will have a plaque near the front opening) you should be ok .

take the front wings right off and repair the box section that is always rusted through or else any work on it is pointless

No idea yet when i get in in about half an hour it's going up on the stands and the strip down will begin, i love that part lots of food bags and pics (never enough pics no matter how many you take there's allways a bag with stuff that don't seem to go anywhere) Lol I'll keep you updated as we go, it's gonna be a dirty relationship that i do know, it's been a daily for the last 10 years, i must get a pic of the block of wood on the throttle pedal so the blocks little Filipino wife can drive it he usually drives a jag (LHD with new fuel tamks ;D if anyone remembers the thread?), she don't cos he refuses to screw a block of wood to the pedal in the jag

One like this in pale blue up the road from me, think the wires make them a whole heap nicer. Should be a smart little motor when done.
You doing owt about the throttle, maybe cover the wood with leather to match the seats or something ;D

I mentioned that to the body bloke today and his reply was something like book cough ? very strange He's spaying it as a fav to a mate, we're striping it here and storing all the bits and doing the welding then it's off to a mates booth to do the body work Makes a nice change from cortinas and modern err,, stuff but getting back to IMP spanner sizes again is tough I might stain the pedal to match the door cappings though ;D The new badges turned up today, 9 of em, all pinned and that's a late tailgate without the holes (stuck on badges) so that will be fun

Strewth. With the big market for aftermarket MG parts, you'd think they'd fit better.
Some of those pics remind me why I play with GRP cars.
I do like the MGB though.

These are big on my want list at the mo. Chrome bumpers, knock on wires, Webasto and overdrive for me would be perfect. I love the 3 'eared' thingamibob nuts that hold the wheels on, so much cooler than 2.

You would yes but apparently people wont pay the extra for decent parts any hoo up to this week APRIL Bonnet back on even though this was an orgional part it still didn't fit that well and needed this mod to the bonnet rubber to sit right (ish) 10mm soacer under the nonnet rubber. and of course the de rigueur broom handle as the bonnet prop is missing (added to the ever growing snagging list) Rear side windows in, yep took a day to get em to open and shut without clouting the chrome trims But they are in and with new seals in place there shouldn't whistle like they used to ? even though the seals didn't fit tha twell and needed to be modded. Sun roof actually was a peice of pee appart from some tiger seal accross the rear part of it it went in easy and is water tight Front screen was a whole differant matter, the rubber goes in first then the screen then the locking strip then the chrome, now the rubbers are like an inch to 2 inches bigger than the screen if you lay them together, that's normal, this rubber was 3 1/2 inches bigger hense waveyer than a errr, well waveyer than a wave lol Leaving it a few days to settle then i'll fit the locking strip and trim, same on the rear except the rubber was a better fit as it was the origional one
