The monza autodrome certainly had a lot of safety features back then <sarcasm>. Modern touring car drivers, let alone the open wheel boys would be bitching no end about the bumps.

What a guy! When we were in Cuba on honeymoon a couple of years ago(?) that on feb 23rd 1958 during the cuban grand prix he was kidnapped by the Cuban rebels, but unexpectedly they treated him so well and he got on with them so much that after he was released he remained good friends with them even popping back for a visit or two... His picture is on the wall of celebrity visitors at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.
