PLEASE put a 2.3 HPT in the 245 Wagon. (from a 940) they're begging for it.
For me, what satifies me most is the feeling of utter superiority I feel whel looking around at the other anonoboxes on the road. And the heart flutter I get when I see another rolling retro pressing on through the blandness.

240z if you have the money for a good one, 100% definately no real choice there, no contest at all, Volvos can wait 'till you kids and have to go to Wickes on a Sunday.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

I like the way they drive, the way the sound, the way they feel and the way they look.
The 2 I have on the road at the moment are quite different cars for being quite similar in some respects ('87 Cadillac and '88 Trans Am)

Corners, smooth roads and the way people react to him. (current favourite pic) Had some wonderful remarks, the ones that stick in my brain are: small child with parent: Wow, that's like a Hot Wheels car! chavs in a tatty hatchback: Take it to the scrapyard. random pedestrians on our street: That's proper old school that is. in a B&Q car park: Look, an old B reg Polo, I've not seen one of those for ages.

At the moment, what satisfies me most about the Equipe is that it works! ;D Because I've spent a long time fighting the thing. But in general I like the way it sounds, and the way it confuses people.
With the Mercedes, it's in a transitional state at present so nothing much satisfies me about it. Yet!

I like a car you can be a passenger in, and have a foot bath at the same time.

the looks you get, the comments you get, the nice poeple coming up to you and telling you how they had one and just wished it was as nice also annoying people in modern cars who don't expect it to be quick (that was with the 2.1) things that annoy me are the comments like "you got a couple of paving slabs in the boot" etc etc which I normally reply with "no, I can drive" main annoyance at the mo is engine troubles with the SX engine!! but I know as soon as it all comes good and I find myself back on the road wooping people in their modern sports cars it will all be worth it! and I think this sums up retro ownership for a lot of us "those rare moments where the car is running perfectly, you're on a nice quiet and twisty road, windows down, shades on and the sun shining down"

i love the little niggles all my old cars have, the look on the local motor factors owners face when i order parts and he has a conversation for ages about old cars, the people who bib and wave on the road, the kids who have never seen old cars and look at them like they are space ships..

Every time I drive the 911.. its a visceral experience that can't be had from my other rides with their albeit nice creature comforts.., the noise / the view down the nose / the speed / the fact that young kids point and know its a Porker.. all makes me smile ;D

Mine is purely comments like 'how do you get that wedge of cheese to be so fast' that keep me getting rid of the poor girl and that she asks for nothing - yet every month I find 'something' to spend on for her haha

I like that i've never seen the same make & model show up even at manufacturer shows
I like knowing that by driving an old car i'm helping the environment by not sustaining the manufacture of new cars (which is a much bigger pollutant/ use of resources than running an old one) As it is more harmful to the environment to produce a car than to run it for the entire duration of its lifetime ( no matter however long that is)
I like how I know about all the little rattles and squeeks etc. because i've fixed and maintained it myself

The 106 isn't really retro, but I love being able to out-accelerate 25k BMWs in a car that cost the same as about 2 finance payments on said BMW
