I went to Wollaton Park Autokarna today. A great show, had a great time, met up with friends and looked around loads of classics. I vowed not to take photos as I often miss actually seeing the cars because I'm too busy taking photos. Plus I knew Alistair was taking pics and so left it to him! However, THIS I had to photograph... Jaw dropping. The attention to detail was just stunning. I Googled Beacham Jaguar, New Zealand and their website has a great bunch of info on how they restore these cars and modernise them with XJR mechanicals. It really was stunning, and probably the car I'd take home with me.

That looks fabulous from the outside (except the door mirrors!) Not keen on the interior though, but I can understand it as a showcase point of view. I love the way (money permitting!) you can have these built to virtually any spec. I'd have a more traditional interior but with updated electronics and switchgear. Similarly I'd choose modern, more supportive seats but with a classic style retrim. All the asthetic beauty of a classic Jaguar but with modern high performance mechanicals and turnkey driveability. Maximum win! Edit. Having just looked at their website maybe Beacham don't offer a bespoke build service? Sod 'em I don't want one now!

I'm also not a fan of the overdone interior but I'd say yes all day long to one of those left stock inside but with that running gear

The interior is a piece of class, just from the wrong era imo, more period dash work, a motolita steering wheel, and bullit mirrors (or such like) and id be booking myself in to have my right arm removed, ready for sale.

I agree with the above, the interior is lovely but doesn't suit the outside, and those mirrors should be replaced by the originals as they're as out of place as a chav in a metal club.

I think the interior goes with the whole "modernised classic" concept that they set out to do - all the benefits of a modern XJR with airbags, electric windows, power steering, sat nav and so on, wrapped in a classic body. However, I would forego all those creature comforts for something which looks more period and classic.
I don't think the mirrors look that bad, but again classic original chrome ones would be my choice.
I don't know what the paint was - the camera hasn't picked it up very well but it had a deep metallic brown flare to it when the sun caught it right. Gorgeous.

I have some more detail shots of this. Give me a few mins. We wondered if it was a Mk2 body grafted on an X400 floor there was so much modern in this one. Execution was 100%

I believed that cut out a section of the MK2 body to accomodate the X400 IRS. I once read a dutch article about it, it was pretty quick only the top speed was a bit dangerous In the early nineties it was fashionable (and moneywise) in the Netherlands to lease a modified MK2 with XJ power steering and straight six.

That's stunning love how original the body and with all that power too, although as others have said the interior is a little OTT needs the TV thing in the middle ditching.

Brilliant concept! I don't mind the interior at all, I think it's a great idea.

The interior's vomit-inducing. Too much tree and cow. Running gear's topper though.

I think the idea is not to look at it as a S2 with modern running gear, but rather an XJ8 (or whatever it is) with a classic body on it. If you do that, then it's pretty cool.
