I was there too, after 7yrs of organising and helping to run the show we took a year out to enjoy it as punters. I'm a bit bias but it was brilliant, weather was fantastic if a little windy, the small shower didn't dampen the day and we saw some great VWs. As I know the show manager managed to blag my self an invite onto the roof of the house with the other photographers covering the event to get a great view of the day. Had a couple of nice cold ones too! ;D

looked like a good show, it usually is. I couldn't go as I was working and looks like I missed some nice stuff. Particularly liked the red Audi 100 and the Orange 76 beetle with the roof chop

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

Won "best other water cooled" and "best Passat" despite being a Bora How does that work then? Were the voting public too stoopid to realise what car it was? Or were there just no decent PisRats there?

How does that work then? Were the voting public too stoopid to realise what car it was? Or were there just no decent PisRats there? There were no passats at all really I think i saw one and it was standard - I didnt even vote for one. Also the winning polo was a completely standard blue mk7 I feel that exposes an issue with the voting system, but then I suppose I would do since I'm a polo driver but there were loads of others there that were more worthy. It's all about having lots of friends who vote for you by the looks of things. Anyway, I didnt mean to sound bitter there, and it didn't spoil what was a lovely day out.

How does that work then? Were the voting public too stoopid to realise what car it was? Or were there just no decent PisRats there? How kind! Everyone who arrives in any VW gets entered into the voting. Every member of the public gets a voting form to fill in to choose their favourites of the day and then everything is counted up. As the event is catering for hardcore VW fans as well as local families you are bound to get people not knowing what certain cars are, especially a debadged one. I thought it was a Passat to begin with and I own one as well. The idea of debadging its to create an air of mystery around the car, be it the specific model or even marque. From a distance it could have been any four door saloon from the VAG stable

I get what you mean and I think it's a nice idea for a voting system, but in practice I was disappointed to see this win best polo and a Bora win best passat! I don't mean to sound bitter just becasue I am a polo owner, I wasn't expecting to win it myself, but there were loads of nice ones there (like the green one you posted above) and the winner was really very ordinary. [/rant] Other than that, it was a GREAT show I thought there was a lovely atmosphere and I will definitely go back next year. Great pics by the way ;D

the winner was really very ordinary. Great pics by the way ;D This embodies what LTV is all about though. The club and the show is open to any VW, any condition, any age. Its a proper old school car club that is trying to cater for everyone from stock daily drivers up to heavily modified, air and water cooled. Not many shows or clubs cover that range. I'll pass your comments on to the show manager though, he always likes to here thoughts and feelings good or bad.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.
