Afternoon all,
I'm in the middle of expanding my very limited spannering skills by changing the radiator on my 1986 Metro Turbo.
All is going reasonably well aside from coolant peeing everywhere - just how are you meant to "position a container under the bottom/top hoses" that will hold more than a cupful of water? - and the old rad is out.
However, the Haynes manual also makes mention of undoing the cylinder block drain plug located on the rear right hand side next to the clutch slave cylinder. I can't see it for the life of me so has anybody else done this when they've changed the coolant on an A-Series? Some I've asked have said that it should all have drained out if the rad's removed.
Finally, getting rid of the old coolant - can I dispose of it down the dump? That's where I got shot of the old waste oil.
