Bare engine - £850 The engine is a 930cc bottom end, bought new in 2004 still with its Talbot oil paper! It was converted to use the imp flywheel but Talbot crank etc. The head is an L4 with mild porting and large combustion chambers machined to .1 of a cc, this results in a compression ratio of 9.75:1. The engine has done less than 5K miles and is in very good condition, the head gasket was replaced recently with a proper 930 item, with the figure of 8 fire rings (The same as used in Eric’s turbo clan), valve clearances done and new valve stem seals fitted. The engine has always been run on fully synthetic and has excellent oil pressure. J

Sorry chaps, times are tough, trying to decide where to go next. Either something that does not require bodywork (read dry indoor space), or small enough to fit into my workshop. I'm not walking away from cars, I just cant have a shell sitting on the drive in the rain getting worse and worse, it really hurts seeing it like that :/ So rather than a constant worry, it will become someone elses project and hopefully pride and joy. That is the reason I have posted it on here and the imp club only, rather than Ebay, I want to see where it goes and what it turns into. I hope people will still talk to me after I have sold all the interesting bits J

Where is the shell located fella? Is there any SERIOUS rust issues or is it just bodywork?

I am located near ot leicester 10 mins from J21a of the M1.
The shell would need the inner arches patching where they join to the sills, and the two rear spring mounts replacing. This would make it road worthy but not pretty, to make it into a really tidy car the poor arch repairs would need looking at, they are strong just not pretty!
Cheers

Sorry to hear this dude, as Will said: it's a real R-R-defining motor that you've built....and one that I can at least say I saw (and heard!) in the flesh What motor have you got to keep you amused on a daily basis until the right project comes up? Matt

It was a megasquirt but I already have two potential buyers for it! I will keep you in mind if both deals end up falling through.
I am tooling round in an XM at the moment, wafty.
A project is being cooked up too, permission has been granted by wifee, and I'm now doing drawings of bespoke components required, not really RR fodder though as it will be a new build :/
