I have a quantity of old, used pool balls (and some plain snooker balls too), and am offering them drilled and tapped to use as gearknobs. pics to show number/colour corellation- plus a few odd snooker balls(note two shades of red available)- they come drilled and tapped to ANY thread size you require, included in the price- although it is up to you to determine that size, unless its a size I happen to know, or have a car to hand to measure. I can advise you how to measure this is you are unsure. I offer all imperial threads as well as metric, unlike everyone else doing these ive seen- just let me know your thread, and it will have it, ready to screw straight on! they are drilled and tapped properly- no rubber inserts or anything like that. so if you want them for another application than a gearknob that requires a small or large thread, thats no problem. I have multiples of most balls left so can supply pairs, etc. if needed too. note- as the pictures show, these are not new pool balls like most places sell- they are old and used, so have a certain patina to them- to suit the kind of cars we all drive they are all given a clean and a light polish once drilled, but they arent bright white- they are yellowed, and may have small scuffs on them. payment accepted by postal order, bank transfer, or over the counter into my account (sorry, I don't have time to go into town to pay cheques in) or alternatively ebays daylight robbery department(paypal) as a gift only, unless you pay the commission on top- which will be an extra 45p. please PM me with your thread size, and colour/number wanted and I will then supply payment details.

i would imagine its m12x1.5, as most threaded vw gearknobs are, but if you have the means to check it i would recommend doing so as ive never had a t4.

craig, that would be great, thanks. bruce, they're put to one side for you mr. ferret, also put aside for you. that thread will be metric, probably m10 or m12 but the pitch could be one of a few. the diameter is easy, its just the outside diameter of the threaded portion. the pitch is the distance from the peak of one thread to the peak of the next- but it changes in .25mm increments so can be tricky without a thread gauge. or a good micrometer. I expect it to be 1.25 or 1.5mm. ile ask bruce if he can measure the threads on his for me though if youre struggling. the other option would be if you can find a nut that screws onto it and send it to me, itll only cost you a few pence to do and then we'd know its definately right.

Hi mate, you don't do a push fit do you? my 340 is a lift reverse, so the gear knob just pushes on.

retro72wagon- yes its still available. in only in manningtree so you could pop down if you like and i can measure up ya stick to make sure its the right thread and drill/tap while you wait?
jon- i can do, it will just need superglueing on or something to keep it on there.
but as i i have just replied to someone else via PM, i have a 340 shifter here so i can drill to the exact size no problem, so its a nice tight fit.

Hey could I have the dark red 7 ball and an 8 ball please?
The red ball would be for a mk2 polo but i've ran a dye over mine so its probaly a bit smaller than original, could you run a smallish tap down it so all i have to do is tap it to fit my car? sorry bit of a mouthfull
Can the 8 ball be left untouched please
Jordan

not a problem on the 7 and 8- do you just want me to put a plain unthreaded hole in it, at say 7 or 8mm, for you to then tap to suit? or do you know what die you used and i can just tap to match. either way PM me with your exact requirements
