Sometimes, once every once in a while, something pops up that you just can't resist. One of those cars that you may not have noticed before or even known existed, but just have so much going for them, just catch your imagination at that very moment.
Mine was one of these:
I wasn't even specifically aware that a 3-door hatch existed. I've had a saloon, lust after a decent cabrio, and admire the tomcat coupe - but a 3-door?
One just like that came up on Friday night, p/x trade-in at a dealers about 60 miles from me, handy money and a month or two of T&T. Even the bumpers were in the same shade of faded grey.
So much potential.
I particularly love the twin-cam 1.4 K series it was fitted with, and have a perfect set of wheels sitting here for one.
I honestly was gutted when I rang on Saturday to find out it had just sold - money in my pocket, lift arranged and parked in the drive...
Some small relief kept me from tears:
But I'm gutted to have missed out. I don't think I've ever seen another for sale over here.
What have you come so close to that you still kick yourself over?
