I bought a 1987 cavalier mk2 gl off eBay a month or so ago, i have done all the work for the mot but the central locking keeps unlocking on its own and continues to do this even when unlocked. If any one know what could cause this befor i start taking all the door cards off and messing with the wiring i would be grate full for advise. I need it fixing befor mot as its booked in sat morning and should pass . thanks James

if its unlocking the whole car the awnser isnt behind the door cards.
Take a look behind the kick panel in the drivers footwell, you may have to manhandle the bonnet release out of the way. The control unit should be sat behind there somewhere and thats where I would start.

The sensor in one of the front door central locking motors is probably on the blink (not sure if these have control from the passenger door as well, or just the drivers door)
I'd guess at the drivers door first - Whip the doorcard off and unplug the drivers side central locking motor, if this fixed it then you need a new drivers motor (or to fix the old one)
