couple of years ago I made a wood burner out of an old gas bottle(think I posted a picture of it on here?) it worked lovely..but it would only burn wood! no good for making a brew!
so... after seeing a little home made cooking stove, I had a little look around on the net.and found they were called rocket stoves..
and have been make them in 3rd world countries for years!!
so found couple of you-tube vids on how to..
then had a go at make one of my own.
and heres how I did mine..
take one old small air con gas bottle.
cut 4" holes front and top
then cut the top of.
turn it upside down to make the lid.
bit of old 4" exhaust pipe for the flue..
bit of cutting/ welding later and fill the void inside with vermiculite.(this acts as a insulator, and keep the heat with in the stove. )
sorry no more photos of this bit,got to cared away with knocking it all up!! ;D but watch the video and see hows its done..)
and this is what I have
and with the hot plate on top that can be used for cooking.. ;D
tried it out last night, and it works really well.
looking forward to cooking on it,at the gathering this year
anyone else got one/made one.. would love to see what others think
