Catching up after working a "weekend" and then buggering off to Spa to watch cars going roundy roundy and get rather wet.
My summary
You found more new rust holes than you had cakes or biscuits
You've repaired most of them
I think you need to stop looking for holes or prodding brown stains with your finger

Spa is on my list on "must go" venues, and this(Classic) looks right up my street. I can honestly say it was a great weekend of racing - if I was to have a little tiny grumble it would be that 2 917's was a pretty poor demo and I was looking forward to seeing more than 2 on track But not having to pay anything for pit access, grandstands, parking in field and not silly prices for circuit refreshments meant more spending money for beer It never felt crowded and the circuit has so many great viewing spaces around the 4 miles it's actually nice to explore The rest of the weekend was superb - yes a little moist at times but we were there Thursday to Monday and still managed 3 BBQ's in the evening. I'm converted 2023 I think was my last Le Mans Classic for a while 2200 photos, given the weather that's still a decent number. I find a day at Cadwell I can rack up 8-900 at the first cut, then distill them quite ruthlessly. I like to experiment with camera settings and my panning still needs work so I compensate by taking more pics knowing I will lose a lot on the cutting floor and Like you I'm getting more ruthless with shots that don't meet my std.

I took the sill trims off the Carlton yesterday. In the words of the great Noddy Holder, "it was like opening Pandora's box". Oh well. It's only welding. Totally Normal - the inner strengthener will probably be frilly too they are fun to repair If it has a sunroof extend the drain pipes our through the sills stops a lot of the rust starting

So in summary I took 2,200 photos accross the weekend which isn't that much for a 3 day event
(I've done that number at a race meeting in the UK or even at a Nascar Race)
But as lighting and weather wasn't the best on some days my normal batting average of 3 out of 4 photos being good enough to share and 1500 shots got deleted - I'll go thro the images again and I reckon I'll be down to under 1,000 but I was really enjoying the watching the racing and several times I had to remind myself to take some pictures.
I'd rate the Spa Classic as better than the Le Mans Classic (which has got a bit too big now and you just feel like you are being reamed for every last dollar Euro everywhere you go) Entry costs, Food and drink prices in circuit were reasonable - parking, access to all of the grandstands and pits (all the access that is getting silly cost wise at Le Mans Classic)
100% recommend

Thanks for sharing
I appreciate the track pictures because that's where I lived for the weekend but the other shots help me get a flavour of the stuff that I never see
Last RR show that I actually saw was 2007 ever since then I'm reliant on good people sharing what they saw

Hi jomoWe don't control the photographers who attend - if they share their insta thing or website we Share it on the forum but it's not something we actively manage for a multitude of reasons I got this picture from an RR show from a forum member who was snapping the track action in 2007 Sorry the picture is a bit ruined but that's what Photobucket did to the internet world - ruined it

Question (also asked in its own thread) - is there any provision for photos to be taken of us in our rides when on track? Or do we have to somehow organise that ourselves? We don't control the photographers who attend - if they share their insta thing or website we Share it on the forum but it's not something we actively manage for a multitude of reasons

I've been working on the assumption my Fiesta Zetec-S is eligible as manufactured from 1999 but mines was registered in 2001. Will she still get in ok? It's on a Y plate - you will be fine if it was on a newer plate ie 51 not so much

Question ? I have a copy of my ticket and receipt for entry on my phone , however , although paid the tracktime for Saturday I have no similar emailed photo to copy and show at the gate ? Will this be assumed because you've had my payment , or will an email ticket arrive by this Friday 10th May ? IE. How do I get in if nothing arrives and it's Tuesday 7th today ?? Don't panic - track stuff will be going out today or tommorrow am latest
