If you're out in the sticks I'd keep anything soft off the floor before it becomes a rodent next. Car upholstery needs to be hung from the rafters, ideally (if you have any). If you're going to keep the sofa I'd mount it up on a couple of bricks, so visitors can't hide underneath it, then put a board on the bottom so you can see if anything's gnawed through it. Found this out with the larger (old) garage, left a pop up tent, tied up and just resting against a wall, came back to find the mice/rats had eaten it and the tent had popped up inside... oops, no sofa in this one, no time for sitting down just getting on with it

No more pictures today I'm afraid, but the welding has begun, the new panel should be in the boot soon and and the rear valance should be very shortly after this

I was unsure as to which vehicle I was going to take but as my Magnum has now passed it's MOT I'll be taking that. So all booked and paid for now. Excellent, I look forward to seeing it, might be a bit of a convoy heading down there, what area are you coming from?

Another update Cars now in its new home, its dry and has electric... and it even came with a light (which broke after about an hour) Dad was nice enough to fix the doors back on for me, and not alot more secure. I owe him a few Mars bars. With the car in the garage and plenty of space to work on the car: Also removed the stickers... Watch this space all being well another update this evening...

So far I've figured from google, that 1k is rubbish, 2k is great (but if you don't have a booth and an air fed mask you'll probably die a slow and painful death) and cellulose can good, or can shrink, crack and loose its shine after a short amount of time...
...any recommendations?

Hello,
I'm looking for some advice regarding paint, I'm looking to respray a mini at some point soon, last time I did it, I used a Cellulose paint on top of halfords primer after taking off the shiny coating of the car... so all in all a rubbish way of doing things, but tbh it worked for that one it coated it all and I was happy enough with the finish, this time I'm hoping to do it better, so any advice or guides on primers/paints/techniques anything that may be useful.
If this has already been answered a link would be appreciated, many thanks
Matt

I've just come across this thread looking for "how to do it properly" and I will be the first to admit I gave it a go... and tbh I'm very glad I did. I didn't prep the surface well enough, I mixed the paint up a little wrong, bought cheap ebay paint in the wrong colour... ...but it worked... I will admit it wasn't great, but it covered the car and I liked it, nothing beats the satisfaction of saying I did that, its like taking a picture home when your 3... lets face it, the picture is rubbish, but you did it. My advice, read as much online as possible, spray patterns, google is great (mostly) and enjoy it, just don't breath too much in... This is how mine turned out, on closer inspection it doesnt look great, but hey I was happy... Go for it!!! and post some pictures when your done!!!

Haven't updated this in a few years...
I have since handed back the keys and rehomed the minx, it now lives near Dartmoor and gets more fresh air and taken for a walk more often...
I have since purchased a mini, which was supposed to be a simple fix and drive job, judging by the 11 months MOT I thought it would be okay... after a little prod with a hammer this afternoon it was clear that this would be a little more... admittedley not as bas as the first mini, but would certainly need some work.
So after a quick phonecall it looks like I have a space again, a little taller this time with a full size doorway, not quite as big but a good space to work on the car.
More pics to follow later this week.
