rusty, i no this may seem just a £250 car to you, but a week or so b4 xmas £250 is a hell of alot of money to most. show RR users you are serious/genuine by nipping down the local library or cyber cafe and taking 5 mins to download the phone images to the numerous pic hosting sites, that way people from say further than your local area can "view" in virtual confidence, come on mate its not difficult, I'm not having a go but its hard selling a car via web space mosta the time without the difficulties youve already put in place. good luck with the sale of a cool retro ride

hi all, this post has nothing to do with "Retro" rides, hence the unusual request I guess. I'm asking more out of the knowledge that you're a helpful bunch and hopefully someone will know the answer. I own a chrysler Grand voyager for the missus and little ones to ram about in every day, a few days ago it went bang in a big way, RAC towed to garage and garage say new engine, or rather for the hellish cost of chrysler parts a new engine would seem a sensible option. ok, so ive trawled ebay and can find a few 2nd hand engines around the £600 mark or a new one at £1700 does anyone have any places, companies or ideas how I could find one a bit cheaper. the cars a 2001 3.3V6 so don't really just want to scrap it tbh. like I say, any ideas or local companies to you would be great, ta

hi all, ive always thought the "swapping" of cars a little unusual but this time thought i'd give it a try. mine is a Mk1 VW Jetta, 1.5 engined manual 4 speed and in good condition - has 12months mot and tax until end of nov 08. i hunted for a mk1 jetta for 2yrs, found one and the kids hate it, we also tried downsizing to just one car kinda forcing the sale of the jetta, but it's been a nightmare, we're basically a two car family due to my shift patterns. so thats the reason for a) selling the jetta and b) needing something else. ive trawled ebay but cant be bothered looking anymore. ive no real "must haves" other than it needs to have reasonably long test and be in good nick, to give you ideas something like mondeo, astra, pug 406 ideally a derv too? but try me on anything because the jettas going unloved atm........ pic here and link to original ad: retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=FSW&thread=46949&page=1#662887

hicksy, yeah it was dude and thanks for the kind comments, it has been well loved by the last owner but as with any old car required a few essential bits at mot time ie brake pipes. as for being in the same boat tell me about it.....at this rate looks like i'll just have to keep her and enjoy her myself hehe
