^ Thanks bstardchild ( I got home 2am today after 36 hours of cancelled / re-reouted / delayed flights across Europe and very little sleep - hope the answer is obvious once I've caught up with things ! )

Getting worried too, ordered tickets 3 weeks ago and still nothing. Who can I contact for help? Don’t panic - they will arrive - even when tickets are lost in the post and it does happen occasionally we have a back up plan HoTWire Me too ? Bumping this as I've been away for a few weeks, just got back home expecting to find my RRG tickets waiting here for me but there's no sign of them. Paging HoTWire / bstardchild I suspect it's too late to get replacements posted to me at home, can a responsible adult PM me so we can discuss options For info, the confirmation email I received 28/2/18 quotes order number #2505.

Some helpful info forum.retro-rides.org/thread/204569/insurance-time-comeI've been running a retro car as my only transport for several years, last year decided to get a second car (as a "sensible" daily) My requirements : classic policy needed for the retro must have business use on the classic at least (both cars if possible) must have "drive other peoples cars" option I was with Lancaster, found them very poor when I needed to claim for vandalised windscreen, and suspect I was driving illegally when I followed their advice about driving other cars ! (see info in the post above). I'd say avoid them at all costs Now with Classic Line, was initially impressed but got a very different vibe when I reported a recent "crash-for-cash" scam (see info in the post above), odd they insist the low value classic must be kept in a garage or on a driveway but the expensive modern is fine kept on the street. See the link above, some very negative experiences with Adrian Flux modified policies (but I've no personal experience)

I have a cunning plan* about what to do with my time ffor the rest of the year Fly to Denmark asap for a few weeks including Copenhagen Grand Prix (search "Copenhagen" for previous photo dumps ) Return in time to unpack and repack for RRG - maybe head "South" afterwards for a few months. Suggestions / offers invited ** Provisionally booked : return to Wales later in the year for a few months Provisionally booked : Birmingham for Jan & Feb (house sitting + "stuff" ) * Other cunning plans are available blackadderquotes.com/i-have-a-cunning-plan ** Question - if you could move anywhere (let's say "UK only" to make it simple), where would you live and why If anyone is looking for some Retro Pioneer ICE, I can deliver to the gathering, just let me know forum.retro-rides.org/thread/202604/major-sale-hunter-storage-housemove

Hi. I'll be abroad for most of the time between now & the gathering so I'm trying to get organised a bit earlier this year A couple of questions : Were the results from the previous auctions ever published (takings, and where the funds went ?). I know the orginal auction was in a good cause - and it's one of the hilights of the gathering for me - but I just realised I don't know what happens to the money it makes Are we having a tat auction this year? *PLEASE* confirm yes (paging HoTWire bstardchild ) ps. I'll be heading South after the gathering, if anyone wants to meet up or has suggestions where I should visit, best PM me or add a note to my "Wombling" thread rather than clutter up this gathering post forum.retro-rides.org/thread/197691/womble-ing-improvising-leaving-wales

Time for a radical ... yet simple procedure - cut down the edge with a 1mm slitting disc on the grinder - open up the gap to required width then close it by gently tapping the aperture edge towards it - weld up & clean up Inspirational and educational as always - I do my own bodywork (when needed for MOTs etc) and much appreciate the time you spend sharing your tips Watching you bring very tired motors back to their former glory never gets old either

I'm a bit worried I put "Ace Hardware Girls Manila" into google search and the first image was ... In the interest of scientific research (and after seeing the photo from George) I tried searching to see what came up. First offering was a pic of a couple of nice staff (man + woman), and a link to a webpage titled *NSFW* "Finding Love at Ace Hardware in Iloilo City" More scientific research showed it to be a fairly innocent page, but the adverts* were a shock to an innocent such as myself *links from there to other pages were not XXX rated but hilighted the big differences in our cultures ( add lots more issues if you're looking for innuendo-based articles) Educational as always, thanks everyone

I love this place because it is so eclectic - but trying to break that into themes (by era, standard v modified, etc) feels against the "Everything has potential" vibe. My feeling is that there's no obvious divide, due to the very nature of the forum (and long may the diversity continue)

^ I was stopping at Alston ( a lovely traditional market town near the top of the Lake District) on Tuesday. Called into the local pub as I'd been told it was quiz nite and heard a couple of big macho chaps loudly announcing they were going to spend the whole weekend with their tranny. The barmaid saw my expression and tried to convince me they were talking about old Ford vans - I'm not convinced Nice folk but you never know what these country types get up to to fill their spare time

^ paul99 beat me to it, the Deltic was the first thing that I thought of Next up would be the Arial Square4 bike engine. 4 cylinders, 2 crankshafts, a clever design by Edward Turner who went on to do work for Triumph and others !
