I did wonder whether that was the case. I'm guessing the 'tang' is designed with this in mind, as it doesn't seem to have a solid connection (looks to me as if it just slips in between the two screws).
Thanks for the help.

Thanks a lot, that would be a great help. You could always measure the distance between the mounting bolts, might be a bit easier.

Would it not be less hassle just to get one made? Try danst engineering they do this sort of thing for a living It would probably be easier yes, but I'd like to make one.

Thanks for the reply.
So is there a 'standard' size of linkage? The one in the pic looks like it has a certain degree of tolerance in terms if spacing.
Thanks

Just a quick question;
When installing twin DCOE's, is the spacing of the carbs/distance between them an issue?
I'm designing a manifold and can't seem to find this info anywhere.
Thanks

Whats the bodywork like?
G40 running gear itself is worth a good £700 (if it's a proper PY block and not G40 kit on an AAV). I'd say anywhere between £1500 and £1900 depending how tidy it is.

Not quite a Mito engine then, but it would be interesting to see if one would fit. I have a spare mito engine and i fancy and old-skool two stroke.

And Finally, before putting the bike away for the winter, some decent pictures got taken (finally!). Credit to Tony Walters for these. And that concludes it for the minute. I'm now off at Uni for the time being, so the Honda is Hibernating in style. Another huge thanks to everyone at The Paintbox and Prosign for their outstanding work, and also for being lovely people. Can't recommend them enough to anyone interested any sort of Paintwork and Pinstriping/Lettering. Hope everyone enjoyed the read.

After those changes, I just rode the thing. I was out on it pretty much every day in the Summer with a mate of mine who bought my other half-finished CG and got it on the road; It doesn't get ridden gently, that's for sure After trashing it about locally for a few weeks, I thought it was about time for a decent ride. 'The Tripout' was in September, so I prepped the bike (Changed the oil and spark plug) and it made the journey from Essex to Bedford without missing a beat. Even managed 85mph! Here's a quick photo I took upon arrival. What a great weekend it was. The Honda served me and a few mates petty well as campsite-transport (occasionally all at the same time).

Well the bike is pretty much finished! Since the last pics, it's had some more touches; Lettering was done by the talanted Neil Melliard of Prosign- check out @the-striper on Instagram to see his amazing work. Found a NOS Fuel cap too. I also changed the cheap £20 bars for some Renthals that were donated by a mate. They were the horrible blue anodised ones, but i spent a few hours polishing them and removed the cross-bar. I couldn't face fitting them up with the old hardware (plastic pitbike throttle, motocross levers) so I bought some chrome BSA style levers, a chrome throttle and some Ivory grips of RedMax Speedshop. After all this was fitted to the bike, I gave it a front to back detail with some Meguiars, and that's pretty much how it stands.

I'm after a belt driven 'smog pump', and I'm pretty open to any make/model.
I'm located in Plymouth and Also Essex depending on what time of year it is, however i'll happily pay postage.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies! Looks like it'll actually work better on injection.
Cheers

Hi, just had a quick question...
When my polo was on Webers and an electric pump to suit, I had a hidden switch to turn the fuel pump on/off.
Would this be a bad idea on an injection system? Obviously I'd rather repair the car than watch it drive off (if someone tried to steal it), but I don't want to do any damage if I forget to turn it on.
Thanks

I bet 2.0 nova's are a laugh to drive but I somehow really hoped that this had a tuned 1.4/1.6 8v.
What a lovely, clean car though, I love that colour on a Nova.

This was £500 Plus £300 for wheels and tyres, £300 for a rebuilt 1.4 engine and about £60 on a nice interior. It's not the most comfortable thing out there but it's nippy, loads of fun, cheap and easy to maintain, and insurance is cheap too

Hi,
I'm after some grey 80/90's recaro/bucket seats for my polo, ideally in good condition and near Essex.
Thanks
