As many of you already probably think, I may have some sort of problem. I like things. Stuff. If I have something, I tend to get more of the same, hence the 4 Monzas, a couple of Senators, a couple of FEs, you get the idea. Anyway, when I in my car (whichever one) I tend to have a couple of CDs, my keys, and me. Surprisingly to anyone who's been to my facility, I'm not a fan of clutter and guff. I do, however, enjoy a bit of music. I also enjoy a nice stereo. ....or two. A nice classic Alpine would be my weapon of choice. perhaps something more modern? maybe something in between.... Obviously a decent selection of changers is available. My current daily is a really cool 3DE in dash changer. I bought two, one of which arrived from the USA and was full of beer or coke. It took some cleaning and fettling but is now fully operational and sexy. The "spare" one won't read discs but I'll get ound to it later, perhaps once I've been through the Sony department. In the meantime, I have a few Panasonic, Kenwood and JVC units. There are some miscellaneous cheapies and a few factory fit basic ones. Sometimes I actually fit them to cars I own but mostly I just get excited about a really nice system and what I'd fit and where and how, then I wake up and realise how few hours each day contains. I hasten to add, these are obtained from legitimate sources, in many instances from the people who had them fitted new! Sometimes I like to rub myself with them all in turn.

Indeed. Even I think I deserve a beer. That arch was only one of the 9 rust failures!

All back together and wearing some temporary paint.
The amount of stuff that I cut, hammered and that fell off, I thought at one point I'd just end up uncovering a Nova.....
MOT passed this afternoon. About 10 hours to complete all repairs.

Despite the monkeys, I've managed to get some trim upon this vehicle. Couple with the shiny new watery pumper. Better than the old one. Sent from probably should be welding something or other using proboards

Rear upper spring seats are the things nightmares are made of. OSF turret has a small hole behind it, easy job, both sills are holed on the inners but should be simple to do, nearside sill has a pretty big cavern toward the rear and the OSR arch has basically turned to dust. I didn't want to poke it until Mr MOT had done the rest of the pokery. Sadly many holes near suspension or seat belt mounts.
I aim to have it retested next Monday.
Too much travel on the handbrake but I've adjusted that now. Bit annoying as it's an auto and the handbrake never gets used.

Just out of interest, have you ever had and day/week/month that hasn't contained some dirt of drama or hilarity?
Hope you heal(heel) up soon

With some elf and safety in use. I stuck this in the air, gained some clearance and repaired the rear arm. I'll be refurbishing one of my spares if this drags itself through Tuesdays MOT as it's not pretty. Then this fell off in my hand. Due to the discombobulation of this bit.. I installed a fresh pair of lamps. Thus It was nice to line up the front bumper as it had a certain droop to it. Sent from imminent MOT using proboards

Hello. Currently surplus to my requirements. Two pairs and an odd one for a spare. Loads of life in them although one features a nail and a couple have scruffy sidewalls. These were from a Jag XJS. Way too big for what I need. Sent from my near Pluto using proboards

Since V8Vitesse is probably busy some way or another, I'll do a mini-update. The coolant wasn't in very nice condition so I've finally bitten the bullet and pulled a few bits. Beware the car that's been sat around... So it's radiator out time. After a bit of wetness.... Now sat in the yard because the factors sent me the wrong water pump. The rad is clear and in pretty good condition, a couple of the alloy pipe T-pieces are grotty and an outlet snapped clean off the water pump (hence the need to replace). All the bolts came undone without fuss, crank pulley was removed painlessly (for access to a water pump bolt). Anyway. I've got stuff to do to my own car(s). Bye.

Very cool.
Where the rack is over the cab, is it meant to have a fibreglass thing to match up with the rest of the roof?
Not helping my urge to get an old van/camping device.

Not too much to report. I have removed, fixed and refitted the exhaust as farty gas noises (from cars) do bug me a bit. Farts are funny though.
The opportunity to test the car without an exhaust was obviously seized. It was good. I want a car without an exhaust. Not this one though.
MOT next week.
