Not much to report with this really, it's been on daily duty (ie not seen a hoover or a bucket of water) since late August. I've installed my old Kenwood Minidisc headunit in it (almost retro in itself) and dug out the box of old MDs that I used to listen to 10 years ago, as having just turned 29, I've decided I'm too old for Radio 1! I couldn't really get on with the 4 spoke Raid woodrim wheel that was in it. I can't quite get comfy holding it, it's , and the spokes obscure how fast I'm going. All in all less than ideal. Luckily I've procured a nice woodrim Nardi Torino wheel for which I fitted last night, and makes the car 100% nicer to drive. That reminds me I must take some photos of the inside! Anyway - the local VW meet had a run up the illuminations, so I chucked the trusty Canon on the seat and tagged along. The illuminations were very pretty and all, but sitting for 2 hours in a traffic jam anywhere gets very tiresome. These are the best of the shots I took (it was blowing a gale and raining horizontally, so I didn't take many!) I'd like to thank the lads I convoyed with for their patience, as I stood in the rain dodging trams with my camera! Jez (B3 Passat - Slammed on Borbets Brocks) Barnesy (B3 Passat wagon - Slammed on Keskins Steffans) and Gilly (Mk4 Golf R32) Ongoing plans for the E28 - take it off the road before the gritters come and give it some TLC. There's a list of niggly stuff I need to sort, and I'd like to douse the underside in waxoyl or similar to keep the rust at bay.

Hi all,
I've been putting it off for ages but I need to get my Series IIA SWB Land Rover, and my Moggy Minor Traveller moved from my parents place in Whitby, North Yorkshire to mine in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. It's a journey of 163 miles one way door to door.
I won't bore you with the details, but a huge family fallout means I've not seen the cars in 3+ years, but it's safe to say they both roll (moved from time to time), but they're non runners, and stored on my parents driveway. I can sort with my dad to be in on the day of collection etc, that won't be a problem.
I've tried Shiply, but came back with quotes way up in the £300s per vehicle and I was hoping for more in the region of £1 a mile.
If anyone could help out that would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Tom.

I really don't want to do this - but if I get a good offer on these I will sell. Set of BBS RC035 'Style 5' 2 piece splits, 17x8.0J all round. 5x120 BMW fitment. Not 100% sure on offsets, but they came off a 5 series, so I imagine it'll be around 20. They're currently all split, so you get 4x centres, 4x barrels, and 136 plus 3 spare bolts. I've stripped the lacquer off one of the lips ready for polishing. The lips have got a few marks here and there, but no kerbing anywhere, whatsoever. The centres are fine, but I'd planned to pain them and polish the lips. These are awesome wheels, and I hunted high and low for a good set, and it's killing me to sell em unfinished, but I've seen something else I want so need some funds! Fully refurbed sets come up (rarely) for up to £700 a set. I'm asking £450 ono for these - collection only from near Blackpool - with a little bit of work you'll have a sweet set of wheels and/or a tidy profit. And this is what they can look like:

The only one I ever bought back was my last winter smoker mk3 Golf. I sold it to a lad I work with last christmas, he needed a car as his Honda CBR wasn't as good as he'd hoped on snow He abandoned it on his mum & dad's drive when the tax ran out, and texted me at random in July to ask if I knew any scrap yards that will come and take the Golf away. At the prospect of a perfectly serviceable car getting fragged, I did the honourable thing and gave him £100 for it I'm putting it back through its MOT this week, and have grown rather attached to it - just persuading the wife I can run it through winter again and save the E28 from the salty roads

Being so young insurance is the problem you're going to come up against over and over again, as most classic policies are limited to 25 and over. But to add interest to the thread: My old 740i 2.5 tons of brown metal, beige hide and V8 lump. Cost me £1100 to buy, £270 to insure on a 3000 mile a year classic policy without no claims bonus (I'm 28) My current 528i, a bit lighter, bit less thirsty, a bit older and a bit meaner! £250 a year to insure on the same policy.

For £200 I'd say it's worth a punt, if you're handy with a welder.
From personal experience these are capable daily drivers, and if the 1.8 proves underpowered, an M20 24v is pretty much a bolt in swap.
Even as it is, if you did the repairs yourself with a year's MOT you'd make a few quid if you sold it on

Many moons ago I had a set of 6J x 14 Cups on my Skoda Felicia, but don't think I've ever seen 6J x15s
Sweet wagon this, white with half coded bumpers and the old school rim choice is a winning formula!

Right, I need to free up some cash to get my Golf through it’s MOT so I’ve decided to have a purge of some of my garage ornaments . BIKE CARBS First off is my bike carb setup. This includes a set of CBR600 carburettors, with main jets modified to suit a 1300 engine, and a CBR 600 fuel pump to suit. This is the best way of doing a bike carb setup as the pump is purpose made for the carbs. They’re in spot on condition, here’s a video of them fitted to my old Mk2 Golf 1300: Bearing in mind that this set up is ready to go - all you need is a manifold I'd like £90 plus postage for the carbs and pump together. I have a pair of Accelera Alpha 235 45 17 97w Tyres – they are as good as new, have 7.5mm tread all the way across. £40 the pair. Collection or I can arrange a courier at cost. CD Changer Cable – I have no idea what make of changers this will fit, but maybe someone will? £5 posted Nappa Leather 6 speed Gearknob/Shift Boot – To fit a B6 Audi A4, but would be easy to modify to fit another car. £15 for both posted Mk2 Golf Bellows shift boot – I kept this from my old Mk2 because I preferred it to a leather gaiter. £10 posted Golf ‘widowmaker’ jack – for a Mk3 Golf but will fit pretty much any VW – missing the handle but this didn’t bother me, I had planned to make an arch roller out of it. £5 plus postage (it’s quite heavy) Cheers

Here's the build thread for Rusty, right from day 1 to present. stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10970OK Mr Burroughs takes a good photo, and is very good at marketing the whole stanceworks movement, and is shameless in promoting it... But if you read the thread, underneath all the hype he's just a car guy, just like every one of us.

4/10 for the execution of the roofchop, but I see what he's tried to do there.
