Nice car. Definitely out of my price range now but would love one. slipngripross I'd be getting those fog lamp covers scanned and either 3d printed or seeing if a run of them could be subcontracted to be made! I had to grab one before the ended up out of my price range too. Good condition early and late STi RA's are asking around £25k in the UK now so I couldn't have afforded one without importing it and I was lucky to find one in Japan now. People have copied the fog covers and make them from fibreglass. Despite the originals costing me £250 I did feel i had to have genuine ones.

It's a belter of a car - and what a great find to have all that paperwork too. Love the work you're doing to preserve its originality too. Have to admit I never even knew there was a factory sump guard for these, but it's obvious when you think about their heritage and what made them famous! One might be useful for mine if I ever get it back on the road, considering the state of some of the roads I travel over. They had a crazy option list for the STi Type RA, even a 6 point roll cage if you wanted it.

Very very nice. Weird that the forum isn't showing your properly cool, quick and interesting car, much love I think tbh for many people a 1995 car still isn't considered retro. I think we forget that these cars are 27 years old now!

Got the old girl out to give her a clean as i hadn't done so before putting it back in last week. I also fitted the genuine fog covers Peter sold too me before the car arrived. They really finish the front end off. I ordered a load of bits from ICP that arrived this morning ready to be fitted by Harveys Autotech in Westbury early next month. I ordered a full cambelt kit with tensioners and guides, Uprated genuine water pump and a thermostat. Having all that done for peace of mind. And although the importer thought there was no original paperwork I found it all under the boot floor on top of the spare wheel. Looks like it includes all the original service history paperwork, original manuals and all the instructions for the aftermarket parts fitted which is a bonus. I may translate it all at some point.

Superb wheel choice 😍😍 they can definitely make or break a Subaru imo. I had sparco terras on my type r. Rare bash guard that aswell 👌 Very nice that and a very cool colour too. Yea the bash guard is awesome. It will be fitted for a few events this year including a few classic road tours I'm doing. I'm also going to risk it and do a few competitive 12 car road rallies i think.

Wow - the nostalgia that your car brings back is immense. I’ve had a real range of STis and WRXs over the years. I used to live close to ProDrive and a friend bought a Legacy from there. It was the first proper fast car I had ever been in (and I’d owned Westfields and MR2s and all sorts). V2 imported STis, highly modified early UK spec WRXs, when I moved to the US a couple of RS subis with engine swaps, a US spec 2005 STi in white, a 2015 launch edition STi and currently a modified old 2004 WRX wagon for winter duty and taking the dogs out in. Of all of them though, the white V2 STi type RA was by far the peach and the most memorable subaru I’ve owned. The only thing close to it was the 2005 STi. Great to see someone with the fore site to be looking after one. Looks like a great car too. Mine was more of a ‘battered and abused - can’t sell it for much domestically’ car. I’m sure these are going to be the future Porsche 911 long hoods. Have fun you lucky thing! It looks like it’s in great hands. Sounds like you have had a pretty good selection of cars in the past that pretty cool. I have fancied a 911 over the past few years but sadly they are out of my budget when it comes to a 90's one.

The car is now ready to collect so I need to shift this COVID rubbish so i can go and get it. After some digging it turns out this car is build number 225/852 worldwide, I can't imagine after nearly 30 years there are more than 500 left. A couple of the tyres on the factory wheels are not legal and I wanted more wheels anyway so when these 17x7 Speedline 2110 Challenge wheels came up with fresh Michelin Pilot sports on I couldn't say no. Luckily my mrs is awesome and went to get them for me. I have these same tyres on my Civic but as a 225 rather than a 215 so will be swapping them over to give a bit of extra width on the Subaru.

I will make a few modifications to this car but all with the intention of preserving original parts or being abe to go back to stock at a later date. I have a Sparco steering wheel i fit to nearly every car I have some four pot Subaru calipers to mount on the front which i had stashed away from another car I also purchased some original STi fog light covers which set me back a whopping £250! I purchased some M2 Motorsport seat rails so i can preserve the STi seats and fit bucket seats. My biggest problem now is how I'm getting it back from Newcastle to Bristol. I could fly up and drive it back but i wanted to avoid the salty roads with no undercoat. I can pay for transport home at £500 or rent a trailer and pull it home with my Landcruiser.
