This is the roof panel I made it thin it's no more than 2 mm because it needed to bend It went on I've left it at that until next week The centre of that panel as in the two middle beams of the frame are 30mm higher than the front and back beams so the water falls down every way there are no flat spots As you can imagine it's not possible to put a compound curve in to a flat peice of fibreglass so I plan to pie cut each end bring it together in the correct shape fix it to the frame stitch it together then remove it and laminate it properly on the ground This is as I said a bit of an experiment it's a fair amount of work but still less than making good the one old existing panel Have yourselves a banging good chrismass

If you need a belt just measure the length and width I presume it's just a v belt and go to your local motor factors and they'll supply the right size for a couple of quid

I'm gonna try make the centre section of the roof in one peice I layed down 2 sheets of 2 mm 8 x4 aluminium then waxed it then put fell coat down for laying up I'm calling it an experiment because I don't know if the fibreglass will go round the corners

I made the moulds anyway for the front and back Then I took the original outer rear panel and chopped 90mm out the middle the thickness of the frame both sides and glassed it back together then sanded it smooth

These are the end caps of the roof after widening the front by 30mm fixing the tears holes and removing all the mountains of filler then putting a little back in The back one would have possibly been ok to use it wasn't too bad but I came up with a plan to use it as a mould for the rear internal comer panel instead of fixing this one wich would have been a mare it's really paggered

I've got a Christmass project I've dreamt up I'm currently restoring a Bedford ca ice cream van I have all the body moulds so I am planning to build a replica something that can be trailed to events I have all the bits just missing a front clip stering box and column wheels too It don't really matter what the condition or width I can change that it just needs to be vaguely steerable enough to roll on and off a trailer The width ideally to the outside of tyres is roughly 60" but as stated I can chop and change I'm in Cumbria but can collect in north of England with cash Why? Today I thought before I fit new Ali to the front I'll test the roof end caps I knew the back would be ok but the front was packed out with silicone filler and random bits of alli It didn't fit the new frame is clearly a fair bit bigger than the old

That's surprising, I would have expected those corners to be fibreglass. Replacements look really good. Cheers 👍👍
