I bolted and welded the axle on then painted the chassis red is just what I had it will never be seen its just to stop it rusting ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4780.jpg) Then bolted the ring beam on the floor will be attached to this then the walls screw in to it ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4786.jpg) Then a plastic sheet is stapled on ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4792.jpg) Then the insulation goes on the plastic is to hold this in place and to stop the floor getting wet ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4793.jpg) Then the ply ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4798.jpg) ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4801.jpg) ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4804.jpg)

Made the frame tonight I bought the angle iron couldn't be bothered climbing the scrap pile in the scrap yard cleaning it all up to save £20 the box section draw bar was robbed off an old static and the brand new tow hitch was found in a scrap caravan I think I will put a hand brake on it and some stabilizer legs ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4760.jpg) The body will sit 100mm lower than this and I may add some4 side skirts yet ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4776.jpg)

we sell the steel AL-KO chassis whole so Ive been waiting for an axle from an aluminium AL-KO chassis they are always always snapped and nobody wants them we normally have a few axles lying about and they get weighed in but ive been waiting a month for one to turn up This morning there was a swift corniche sat on this its a bit rusty its kinda overkill its plated at 1200kg and braked I'm thinking the tear-drop is going to be about 200kg when finished ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4742.jpg) so I gave it a going over with the wire brush wheel to get it free from rust n crud ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4745.jpg) And Painted ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4748.jpg) ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4749.jpg) ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4751.jpg)

This is the story of a teardrop I made a couple years back from curse word lying around Ive been thinking about making one of these for a while I'm making it in my spare time using reclaimed wood windows ally and chassis from scrap caravans so in theory it wont owe me anything and I wont feel the need to sell it also it wont take up much room in the workshop Its going to be pretty basic This is where its at ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_4634.jpg) ![](http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u469/henrynumberthree/Teardrop/IMG_46141.jpg)

We have recently jumping to this too, I slipped a disc a year ago and trying to camp with it was far too painful (All fixed now). So recently bought this, it needs work but it all now water-proof and the interior is slowly coming together: ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/homeworldfusion/IMG_20160508_091900_zps20it5a72.jpg) Yes I am pulling it with the Supercharged GT :-) It's just under the max load she can pull (in Standard form). nice one stick some more pics up

Nice one It's about in the limit of a classic caravan my definition of Classic is one that does not have bonded polystyrene walls but has outer panels that can be removed therefore can be fixed when it rots
I'm loving your disco I have a mega soft spot for green 300tdis Apologies if is a 200 or v8

We only sold it as our kids out grew the bunk beds It was a 2 berth and when we had it given to us we had no idea it was a rare top of the range caravan (hot and cold water and a shower fitted as standard not bad for a 1970's caravan i read on line that to buy it brand new it would have cost about £1100) so we proceded to rip the inside about to build fixed bunk beds i think i have pics if anyone is interested I'll post them It did us well for about 4 years Ye man get the pics up I like old caravans
