Stick a caliper on the other and get it gone! Go for the V6!! Just out of curiosity, how much for the one with caliper issues?

I think it entirely depends on the abilities and choices of the builder. I’d guess between 1000 and 1250 kg, depending on engine, gearbox and axle choices, together with how much tat they bolted to it. If you really wanted to, and were starting with a modern all alloy engine and gearbox for your 140bhp, only had rear wheel drive, and built down to a weight rather than up to a specification, I’d think you could comfortably come in around the 750kg mark, so 180+ bhp/tonne. Quick, in other words. 😉 Thanks Glen. That makes sense. I would want only two seats, no bull bars, towbars (probably) and as little as possible extra weight. Motor and trans....?/ Here is a clue on the donor. Around 140bhp from 1800cc which I suspect one could tweak a bit. ![](https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/mm90/niknakpix/3622C661_4F09_4879_9B61_BE3E1ADA54D1_b6c13e89_25ef_4873_89f7_ab22aa883266.JPG) PS II do like wide steels, or some of the nice 13” Japanese style alloys. Hope that makes sense. More detail nd pics tomorrow or so. These respond well to a bit of forced induction and can be all done bolt on, internals are pretty bulletproof up to about 280bhp!

i have a (ruined) marina 1300 gearbox i could be persuaded to part with - it would need some freeing up though, the selector side has seized standing in a field.. any use? Sounds ideal, really didn't want to cut up a good gearbox! Where abouts are you?

Hi Grizz , haha i may need a medical procedure after trying to start my new high pressure gas fed grenade ! When i tidy up , it all gets wedged in the greenhouse and car port , which are both CHOCKA BLOCK ,and no mistake...oh, or in the back of the landy . may get to fire it up/create a mushroom cloud tomorrow... Regards robert Hopefully the former rather than the latter, would hate to see/hear of the demise of MEDUSA. An awe inspiring epic build so far, keep up the insanely good work, I'm sure you inspire us all.

I would have thought someone would have done fibreglass front ends for these, ie clubman front or alternative looks similar to the mx5 offerings.
