I have a 3.5 v8 currently in my mgb (high compression out of a land rover i believe, can check the engine number), that i'm taking out to fit a 3.9.
Don't want alot for it, but i need to keep the timing cover/dizzy, manifolds etc but the block itself seems good hold good oil pressure can be seen/heard running. Where are you based?

##Update ## yesterday I picked up some super cheap rims (£90), were right on my door step to so would of been rude not to get them...... They are 16", 7J Rondell's and I fitted two today and they actually look pretty good Do they work or not? Now as they were so cheap i'm going to get them powdercoated - now my next dilemma is what colour?! Any suggestions? White? black? red?!?

Hey Guys, My Phase 1 Renault Clio Sport 172 has been off the road for about 2 months and it's now time for a bit of a makeover.... It's going to recieve some fresh paint in the original pearl black as only handful were ever produced in this colour. But my massive dilemma is wheel choice?! really need some help on this as I need to order some rims in the next few days but can't decide at all.... Here's a picture of the clio, Wheels i'm currently considering, Lenso BSX, Rota GT3 in either black or maybe even red? Rota Track, Dare XT, Or can you spot something interesting for it on rimstyle.com? Running coilovers so ride height can be fine tuned for whatever wheels I go for.... Opinions needed kinda being tempted by the red gt3's?! but not sure if it would work...

Right its got to go, simply not practical for work For sale is my 1991 Toyota Celica GT4 widebody import. 5 Months Tax, 11 Months Mot It's a 2ltr Turbo, 4 wheel drive thats covered 125km so about 70k. It was imported in 1998, on the road until 2004 then parked up by the previous owner for that last 5 years on his drive doing nothing - following a waterleak I bought it approx 1 month ago and got it mot'd a couple of weeks ago and went straight through - no advisories It's had, New waterpump and cambelt last weekend, old belt kept and photo's prove it was replaced New rad/thermostat a few weeks previous. 4 x New Kumho tyres Mechanically it seems very sound and unmodified, think the factory spec is 204 bhp but obviously being a turbo it makes it perfect for tuning. According to what i've read they run 10psi as standard and can be safely increased to 12psi which bumps the bhp to 235-240ish apparently? this is something I was going to look into if I was going to keep it. Clutches on these are expensive to replace but good news is that the clutch is very good and has a very low biting point It has a very nice sony head unit fitted that I will leave in the car, 'toyota' momo steering wheel and an aftermarket Razo gear knob fitted - all of which were on the car when imported. Bodywork is straight and currently in matt black as the old paint was very tired due to standing so long (originally black), however i'm going to repaint the car in Satin Black as the matt seems to be quite high maintenance to keep clean so this will be done prior to being sold. Interior - is very tidy, seat bolster is not ripped and all electrics work - electric seats and mirrors flip in. Known faults - yes it has some but it is 18 years old. Plastic trim in boot broken (my fault!), hatch struts tired - has a clifford alarm fitted but remotes don't seem to do anything (instructions/receipt for alarm with car) - something i'm sure an alarm place would be able to solve. Sun damage to dash, dash is lifting by the vents, no cracks so not to obvious at all Air con isn't working - but this was all refurbed prior to being laid up for 5yrs ago according to histroy so may just need regassing? not investigated this. History - yes it has all the paperwork since being imported. Price : £1500 ono - I found this quite a hard car to price as nationally there are none of these for sale on autotrader, especially in wide body. Located in Armitage, Staffordshire. - 07717871649 May consider a part ex but must be mot'd/taxed - will consider a cheap runabout + some cash. Try me

The V8 in my MGB, chucks a fair bit of smoke out the breathers - holds very good oil pressure but local garage said its probably down to slightly worn rings but did say it will probably carry on doing it for many years to come with no issues...

I blended in a sebring rear valence of my MGB, using FG and some fairly cheap easy sand filler from a motor factors, cant remember the brand now but over 12 months of hard road use and no cracks have appeared....

One of those days....GavinJ

Ever had one of those days when everything goes wrong? Had a pretty curse word day at work and then tonight driving home, my celica developed a strange noise from the drivers side front wheel so I get it jacked up in the dark & have a good look over it & can't see anything, nothings loose, no play in the bearing so go for a test drive. So as you do, I put the window right down to have a good listen to the noise as i'm driving along & all seems quiet again, so thought great lets give it some stick down some lanes....then all of sudden a piece paper goes straight in front of my face from the passenger side & straight out of my drivers window.......can you guess what it was? ....My Tax Disc So I pull up & think perhaps it magically got sucked back in and is back of the celica somewhere?! so go to turn my interior light (as its pitch black as no street lighting) & it does not work, so scramble about a bit but give in to the fact it went straight out the window I then remember I have my trusty old maglite in the boot, so a good 40mins of searching later and result I found it on the grassy verge at the side of the road! WOOOP! haha was so happy but annoyed at the same time ;D so pick up my road tax that now looks like paper road kill as it has the imprint of the tarmac on it after being driven over a few times..... So get in the car go to drive home & the noise has returned so carry on home get in the house & have a nasty thought about my tursty old maglite as I can't remember picking it up & surely enough I can't find the thing & figure trying to find a torch without a torch in the dark is not going to be fun!! Roll on a new day tomorrow!! wonder if this will go in the 'whinge bin'?

I Satin Black'd my whole car using just 6 trade size aerosol cans of Satin Black, finish is very good and only cost me £22 for 6 cans..... Aerosol cans could be an option? i did mine on my driveway in pretty curse word windy conditions and it went on fine...

Where can i get camo paint in aerosol cans? i'm after matt camo brown and an olive green - went to halfords and asked for some to be mixed up but they wanted paint codes.....any ideas what the paint codes are? Some pics to keep this thread interesting!

Well ghee this isn't a keeper for me to be honest only bought it as a bit of challenge to get it up and running, its to big and it will be a bit thristy on fuel for me to keep using for work for to long, so will be available over the next month or so.....already put it up in the Wanted/Swap section! Must admit it drives lovely for a 18yr old car and pulls strongly just not practical for me to keep, but had loads of satisfaction doing the project though!
