Well it's been a pretty difficult couple of weeks , a incident at Rockingham left me with a far amount of damage to the rear clip and with only 2 weeks until the Next Round of Time Attack it was all hands too the pumps to get her fixed !!!! It also gave me chance to make some new wing pylon to move the wing back a bit and some new more aggressive with ends , I also lost reverse gear !!! Wing pylons Might have got a bit carried away with the wing ends :-) Loss of reverse was a knackered gear shift cable so had to swap that !! Pain in the job as you have to strip load of stuff out of the way in the engine bay :-( All done and ready for Snetterton on the 31st May !! Tux

Not got the wheels yet but the old tyres on them were 235x50x13 , I guess the 235x45x13 will be ok , not sure if it's worth buying the rims if I cannot get the right size tyre though .

Well what a fantastic weekend !!! Arrived Friday to get registered and scrutineering out of the way , along with setting up the noble and out accommodation !! Time Attack is MSA registered this year so some new bits had to be sorted on the car but she went through with no problems , all my gear has to be checked too so helmet, race suit, boots and gloves were all inspected . It hurt a lot putting on my novice sticker on the car but until I have done 6 events it has to stay !!! To keep cost down we have kitted our the trailer to sleep in , worked very well and was pretty cosy !! Friday night is Steak night in out house so no reason to not continue with the tradition !! Noble tucked up in her accommodation . Practise went well and the car felt great , weather was good and some of the photos we brilliant !! Qualy was epic , felt nervous but confident , needed to push hard as I wanted the 50 points that qualifying brings , managed a lap of 1.42 which was within a second of my best time last year , pretty good when you consider it was the first time out this year !! When I came last year it was July and I had done 6 track days before I went to Cadwell !!! It all started to get very tence when 30 minutes before my final the heavens opened and down came the rain !!!! curse word !!!!!! Off came my dry tyres and on wants the toyo's ready for the final , I was pretty nervous going down to the collection area !!!!! I was pretty convinced that the front engine rear drive cars would have a advantage over the Noble so the wait was pretty tense , I sat there for 40 mins as the rain poured down !!!! The Clark of the course was waiting for the rain to stop but it would not play ball , add to that the fact that everybody's cars were steaming up like crazy and it was looking pretty bad for the final !!!! I was dreading going out on track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After 45 mins the final was cancelled , phew I was relieved but gutted too as I wanted to race !! It ment the final results would be based on qualifying so I was awarded the win !! Fantastic result and a brilliant start to the season !!! Celebrating now then next week we start getting ready for Snetterton .

Yes I owned a Ultime from 2000 to 2005 , built it myself and spent 50k plus . Engine was a fuel injected small block Chevy making 500 bhp , mapped by David Walker . Stunning car to build . Great looking car and incredible to build but it was never as good to drive as I wanted . Suffered from understeer when turning in and oversteer when trying to get out of a corner !! Add to that horrible bump steer and wooden brakes and I never felt fast on track !!! The Noble today would destroy it and I have never been overtaken on track by a Ultima no matter what the spec !!!!!

Lol thanks for the comments guys , it's nice to see people are interested , I've been a car nut all my life and I genuinely think the Noble is the best performance car I have ever owned !!! It's taken a fair amount of hard work but I am immensely proud of what has been achieved with my little Noble . So the final part of the story . So after all the hard work over the winter we were finaly ready to get on track , a full day at Snetterton was booked with Goldtrack and boy was I nervous !!! Thankfully the day was sunny and dry so there would be some grip !!! I did a 20 min session first to settle into the car , I've not driven it in anger since last September and holy curse word did she feel quick !!! I've spent all winter in a vito van so had lost some reactions and if I'm honest the 3 morning sessions were terrifying :-( I just was not fast enough for the car , the acceleration was breathtaking on low boost and I just kept ending up coming up to corners way too fast !!! At lunch I regrouped and had a talk to myself , I needed to up my game . After lunch I relaxed and started to enjoy her again , there is no high speed under steer and the whole car feels very well planted so the aero is definitely working :-) my pace was picking up and I started to get on it , low boost along the main straight saw 130 mph easily and later I touched 150 passing a Porsche Carrara GT !!!! Everything started to jell together and she started to really fly , no big moments just smooth in a fast out , great fun !!!! Got some cracking Photo's too . Also got sent a good photo with a bit of flame :-) So now we are almost up to date , last week we headed up to croft to do a track day on good Friday with Javelin , having never done croft I was nervous but exited to get out in her again , unfortunately the weather was not with us and we turned up Friday morning to torrential rain and a very cold day :-( I use Toyo 888's in the wet which most people think I'm mad but they seem to work very well and surprisingly after only 10 laps I started to get to grips with the car . Croft is awesome and very fast but the car felt very stable and while I had to be very careful with the power she was great fun to drive !!! Plenty of red flags and people throwing it off the track but I managed 40 Laos without problem and in the end was having a lot of fun !! Sone good photo's as well . So there we have it , we are up to date , currently she has been cleaned and is ready for The first round of Time Attack at Cadwell on the 25th April . I'm a bit nervous but confident that the Noble is ready and I'm sure I cannot do any more with her , I'm back in the gym and on the play station to improve my reflexes , the new 2015 Sticker pack has been fitted , hopefully the weather will be kind and we can have a good dry safe race . Thanks to everybody for commenting and following I hope I did not bore you guys too much , I will of course update the thread through the year , if you see me and the Noble at a track please feel free to come over for a chat and a sit if you want , as you have probably guessed I am very proud of my Noble and I hope I can do her justice this year at Time Attack . Thanks Tux

So after Autosport I spent a month sorting out all the odd bits a bobs and getting ready for the dyno day , having fitted a new intercooler and bigger injectors it was necessary to remapp the engine . Martin Cheetham the engine builder had asked if I would use his mapper , WGT Automotive come highly recommended but having not used them before I was a bit concerned . I run a MBE ECU that has 3 map setting so the plan was to map Low boost 500 ish med boost 550 and high boost 600 ish in the end it turned out te upgrades I have done made a big difference and the power was massively improved , the end figures are very good !!! Low boost 505 bhp and 380ftlb torque Med boost 579 bhp ad 420ftlb High boost 650 bhp and 500ftlb But that does not tell the whole story !!!! A run on the same boost as last year made 679bhp and had to be shut down because the dyno got a bit upset !!!!! Fantastic power and boy does it feel quick , on the road low boost is enough , on track medium boost seems to be all that is required too see of most things !!!!! What the hell high boost is going to feel like I have no idea but I recon it should feel pretty quick ;-) After mapping it was just a case of getting out in the car and making sure she is ok , first trip out was Pistonheads Sunday service at Silverstone , lovely chilly day with lots of cool cars . I had forgot how modified my own Noble is but when you stand it next to a std Nob,e the difference is remarkable !! Tux
