I think your instructions are too complicated.
I have a little sign that says “Please Ring The Bell”, with an arrow pointing to the doorbell button. Couriers still hammer on the glass panel in the front door though. One day someone will put their hand through the glass.

Seems like a fair chunk of cash for something so scruffy. But, that is where the market, and the demand is. Lots of people fighting for not very many cars. Or at least, more buyers than cars for sale.
Not sure you’d find a quick sale for yours even in Holland though, given that it’s RHD and has a bigger engine than Dutch rules allow. I’d imagine over there it would break for parts pretty easily though.

There’s a good deal of wibbly wobbly everywhere at the moment. Best of luck.

Looks good to me.
I’d have just saved time by not doing it. 😉
But then, my Land-Rover has only had door seals for the last couple of years; I managed 27 without. 🤣

I’m long past the point that I trust anyone else to do stuff for me that I can do myself. I’ve been let down too many times.

I used Land-Rover wiper arms on my Austin and got the crank angles right by using one LHD and one RHD one.

Well done, that horseshoe is unusual, have just asked a farrier what they were used for. It would have been nailed on the bottom of its foot. Sorry, I’ll get my coat. 🤣

If that bow shackle is in the bin there will be a reason ,it's the best place for it. Lifting gear is cheap anyway. Chances are it got left on a van roof or suchlike. It’s tagged, so pretty likely that it was part of someone’s assessed kit, so if it was scrap/damaged it would have been disposed of in a formal manner rather than left on the side of the road.

I have seen headlight units with an underslung pilot, particularly the Lucas units fitted to 1950's British bikes, but that's the first I've seen with them on top like that. Looks like an ideal solution.

V8 was 4.6litre mustang lump not 5 litre btw Glen I’m oddly disappointed to hear that. All these years I’ve thought it was a 5.0… Still quite fancy one, but only in a half-hearted “if I won the lottery” kind of way. 😀

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the V8 ones fitted with Mustang engines? Yep. 5.0 autos.

The 2.5 does go very nicely. I hired a brand new one for a long weekend over Christmas 2002 because I needed to go from Canterbury to St Andrew’s in Scotland and back and didn’t fancy subjecting my (then) new girlfriend to the journey in my P4. I remember being impressed with its pace and comfort. I nearly bought a V8 one when Rover folded and there were a handful of new ones sitting around unsold, but I couldn’t raise the cash (and I got cold feet with regard to getting parts etc.).

…the owner is seeking £2000 which possibly may be what it’s worth ?? As said; only with a full (clean) MoT and four new (decent) tyres. Not with a list of advisories a mile long and a set of budget ditchfinders. As it stands, sentiment might see me bid £1000, but if they think they can get double that for it then good luck to them. Sit back and let them try.

I have always liked these too.
In my experience, families in these circumstances either want to see the car "go to a good home" and want very little for them if they think you're the right buyer, or they have an entirely unrealistic notion of the value of the car and want several times it's true value.
I would suggest putting the number into Webuyanycar and getting a baseline idea of what it books for. Then you can decide whether sentiment and/or the car's condition will allow you to go up or down from there when the family get back to you with what they want for it.
But be prepared to walk away when they say they want £5K or something equally ridiculous.
