Points i can already see i need to address are general tidy of the engine bay, putting wires where they're supposed to be, removing the HID's cant stand them and their added wiring nests. Tracking, front left wheel is facing the kerb. Couple of spots of rust about that ill attack. Give the interior a damn good cleaning and put a working radio in so the missus will have a nice bit of class, instead of a banger E36 diesel to be taken out in. Need to remove chrome surround trim in the dash aswell (I have never understood why these cars attract chrome) All in all I think a good buy, and I cant wait to start using it. Oh and yellow headlights are on the way

Next, take the bling off. Starting with the bonnet sound deadening, why would you want to deaden the sound of a twin turbo v6? And the chrome trims all off now. And onto the rear window, which aswell as holding water has a nasty bluey tint on it. I got some of it off but i already know from doing my volvo this will be a pain in the bum.

Say hello to my new beast I missed the last one so much I decided I needed another one. Drove it back nicely, only noticed some propshaft noise, maybe start with a gearbox flush aswell. First things first. Get it running right. I bought it with turbo seals gone and a boost issue. But with a dyno print of 361. Nice split after the Maf wont be helping, so I taped that back up and refitted it, I will need a new one at some point. Also wouldnt boost past 2500 revs, Could be a few things causing this so I thought id try the easiest thing first, water on the filter and maf. Sure enough i poured half a cup out of the filter (which coincidently is the same filter and issue my last one had) Also not sure how i feel about the dump valves but for now they can stay, I'm getting a slight bit of chatter so they may not be working anyway. I took it out for a spin after these changes and it seemed to behave, it was wet so as boost hit, the wheels lit up, but it did go to 14psi with no bother.

Next to do is sort a proper oil breathing system. The original airbox has a built in pipe that just vents under the filter. As you can see from the mess this hasn't really worked. I intend to thread a pipe in there somehow and reroute under the turbo. Whilst that was off I wanted to find the exhaust leak. Straight away I saw it was coming from the egr blank. So off with that The blanking penny had slipped. So I put a new one in. The intake side has a stripped thread so I need to sort that. Probably use a helicoil

And I fixes the oil leak. I put a new metal gasket in on the oil filter housing and also put 2 new o rings on the cooler pipes. There's no oil loss now so I think that's cured. I couldn't get a good picture of it all cus its jet black with oil down there.

Something I don't want to miss have come up for sale and with the BM running good it means I can put this car up for sale again. Mileage is now around 140,000 and still going strong. Speed sensor was changed a long time ago, no issues there. I'm currently replacing the passenger side CV joint and wheel bearing to cure a drone (seems silly to do one and not the other) Ill get some more pics up this weekend for anyone interested. Thanks Mark

Just to let you all know how this car is going. Firstly I needed to get some rear wheel bearings. Ordered some, the wrong ones came, had to wait for the correct ones. Wheel bearings done, look at the brakes, flexis arrived late putting me back, flexis went on. Whilst waiting for brake supplies I ordered a drive belt, got the wrong one. Correct one is on order. Had a look at the broken window mechanism. Ordered an actuator. New one is the wrong side and completely bent (like the one on the car already), trying to send that back now. Got some mirrors to replace the broken casings. They don't fit, and have slightly different backing with different mounts. Got the brakes done finally, 2 new pieces at the back nicely done. Bleeding them up, and they popped further down the line. Need to run them from behind the fuel tank. I'm just going to go round it. Engine is running fine but sounds like it has a top end knock. Ive got a metal gasket for the oil filter housing leak aswell. Ive not had a goot look over the engine or changed fluids, or even cleaned. I'm not happy with a dirty engine bay. This car seems to be cursed. I'm hoping it will all be worth it in the end.

Little update today. Some good, some bad and frustrating. Firstly no pictures again because light hates me.
I got the rear brakes cut off and put in some nice new copper lines, bled it all up and tried a few emergency stops on the drive. first 3 times brilliant. 4th time i heard a hiss. Coming from further up the brake pipe, almost unreachable so i may have to start from the abs module for that one.
I also ordered some new mirrors because the ones on it are broken up. They arrived today, and they don't fit. They must be a pre facelift type or something. Very annoying.
I had also ordered a fan belt. Got the entirely wrong size, got a 4pk780 because thats what it said i needed, turns out i actually need a 5pk1815.
This means itll probably be after new year that i can get it on the road.

I hated e36s for years. Was an e30 only guy. Then I started to see the potential. Now I'm so glad I got one.

Awesome. I'm hoping to enjoy it soon.
Sorted the headlight. And side lights. Needed new bulbs and wiring putting back to normal.
I got the rear flexis ready today. And cut out the rotten metal on the brake pipes. But couldn't get the new stuff on because I couldn't find the flare tool or the fittings.
A new alternator belt has been ordered as has the oil filter housing gasket. From ebay and I'm almost certain its going to be the wrong one.
No photos sorry as its dark and getting ridiculous now.

Got the correct bearings and pressed them in yesterday (realising i used the inner race to do so, but they turned out fine) Then got it all back together and went to investigate the brake hose issue. So 2 new flexis on order and somee pipe needs making, ill do both sides. Then its just headlight tweaks and i can get him MOT'd Also looks like the alternator belt is either very very stretched or the tensioner is deas, annoyingly its not just a castle nut or a threaded bar but a tiny gas strut. I may have to improvise as the real thing it £40
