Yes actually. After the trip to york it decided to play up and not start again. Sat for a couple of weeks while I scratched my head testing everything. Sorting wiring. Asking gurus on the volvo forum. Lots of ideas as to what could be causing no start symptoms. Turns out the ecu fuse was loose in its socket. I pushed that down and everything sprung to life. Still has a cranking issue, sometimes it will start immediately and sometimes it'll take a couple of seconds. But over the past couple of weeks I lost all patience and even considered selling it. But now its all good again I think ive got to at least get coilovers on it and finish tidying it up. Ive been touching up the black bits and the chrome bits (painting them black) But i have no photos as I'm rubbish. Those who come to the MK meet on friday will get to have a look over it. I'm happy again

Just done a fully loaded run up to york and back, stuck in lots of traffic. The car performed effortlessly I'm quite impressed with it. I still need to sort bits out though. Its niggling away, and I'm not getting the time for it.

I need to have a good look under the car actually as all the bushes are worn. I don't even know what the bushes look like. Cheers

Ive got the dump valve off and blocked, with a filter on it it now chatters nicely. With a metal pipe it'll really accentuate it. And the exhaust is nice, but not me. I think ill chop it off just before cat and sidey it under the wheel arch. The grill needs changing for a standard grill. Theres also a chance ill get some coilovers for it. But I'm sure they wont be low enough for me. Something needs to be done though as its too powerful to be this lardy. IT NEEDS TO BE STIFFER! AND LOUDER! AND LOWER!
Other good news is i have tunes in it now. and the speakers arent bad atall. All ready for this weekends road trip.

Ive had this going for a couple of weeks now. We traced the issue down to the ignition amplifier, i got another second hand one and its starting everytime now, still cranking up to 10 seconds but its starting and I'm using it. It also passed the mot with rear bushes worn, chip in screen and flexis deteriorating so I'm well pleased. It also got its first proper wash and its turned out pretty good. Id still like to mop it and really polish it, but id like to tidy the bumpers first. And i need to repaint the wheels.

Yeah heat is an issue with that car, alot of engine in a small bay. Good job on the intercooler pipe aswell, that was well needed. The ecu clearly got hot and sweaty under there then. Maybe look into relocating it to the other side of the scuttle. And glag its showing up some heavy metal, thats what it was built for. I need to update the other thread. I'm enjoying that aswell.

I've had a think about this. I think it could be the main relay not activating properly. If I'm getting weak spark ita telling me that its switching but not making full contact inside. And when it does start its because the switch has worked properly. This could be the wiring messing it up. I'll take the top off tomorrow and see what I find

I booked it in for an MOT today knowing that i could now start it, guesse what, it wouldnt start, missed my time slot then it started, I'm getting very very faint spark from the coil if any. But when it runs it runs fine, i really don't get it. Anyway, have a short video of it moving. I also took the spoiler off as its got alot of lacquer peel, ill decide what to do with it at a later stage. I also havnt had a monster truck for a while, something will need to be done about that arch gap

I'm kidding myself trying to fit these to any of my cars, ill need mega adapters at the very least.
Freshly painted in battleship grey, not the best job in the world, there are some runs. But they look good.
Collection only from Flitwick Thanks Mark
(they were pink, Ive not painted the underside)

It may be nearly broken guys but it is working as it should, the relay is firing on and off on command. It will get tidied up, it looks like every connector is covered in greasy stuff and green. What concerns me is that the injectors are firing for the 5 seconds that spark is being held back flooding it. But I can now start it when I want. Out of interest should my crankshaft position sensor voltage be at under 2v?

I have an update, a good one. Bulbs replaced where blown, Fuses replaced where missing. So now i have all working bulbs. Time to look at the starting issue. Looking at the ignition relay Looks like curse word, but I'm still getting 12v through it, ill have another look at this at a later date, but for now its fine and working a it should. Looked at the camshaft sensor next. The connections were ropey with green, cleaned up and it was all fine. Gettig 380ohms and 5v feed, thats ok. The crankshaft feed it only 1.7v which doesnt sound right. But thats not an issue atm. We took the king lead off the dizzy and got a spark plug on it. Turns out it will crank for 5 seconds before it will even spark, This is consistent. It also looks like its flooding the bores within this 5 seconds of cranking. So a sure start now seems to be crank with a full throttle for at least 5 seconds. Which means i can run it down for an mot But before that, the important stuff needs to be done.

Ive seen the wires going to it actually and the whole setup doesnt look to healthy. Also have lots of bulb issues and fuses missing and all sorts of bits to keep me busy. I just want to get it to an mot station.

Ive had a google and it looks like my next thing to check is my main ignition relay. This is frustrating as the car is not at my house. Ill have to wait a couple of days now.

I have good news and bad news. Good news, it sounds like this when it runs Bad news. The crank position sensor didnt fix it. So I'm at a loose end again. Its the spark thats playing up because when it does start it doesnt caugh or splutter, it either works or it doesn't.

I'm still waiting for my crank sensor, although that is the main culprit. I just tried it and it started. It really is intermittent. I cleared the rear elements first, they didn't look damaged so I think I got away with that.
