I've noticed most the guys now are moving over to the ford axle and diff, I think due to breaking half shafts
I've managed to get a pair of the en24 shafts for a good price, a 3j lsd and a 3.9 diff track days rather than drag racing so hopefully this setup will be ok, unless I sell this kit and go ford..
I do have the arches for it.. but already bought wheels in midget pcd

A little more work done on the tunnel, added a box to surround the type 9 shifter and a plate to contain the gaiter I use. Drilled some access holes so the shifter can be unbolted when the box is fitted or removed. Just need to weld it in fully and fill in the gaps. I may end up changing the actual shifter to be angled forward once I've got a seat in.

Yeah with the turbo there is a lot of torque, you can now steer just with pedal input lol

The red car has now gone, provided me with a good windscreen, 3.9 diff, some trim parts that I was lacking. Metalwork continues on the K series build. More new bits, yep the forged bottom end is getting ductile liners the same as the Allegro

Trip to the Dyno on Sunday, time for some mac valve wastegate control.
Good and bad really, it made some boost, but the wastegate isn't strong enough to make more than 20psi, I need one with dual ports. Also the boost over 8psi wasn't consistent, it would seem there is a leak that opens up at higher pressure but closes intermittently with heat and it's very laggy.
New gaskets for the turbo flange ordered as one part blew out, and a leak tester for the cold side
332hp was seen though, road testing afterwards suggests that could be near the limit of my driving ability at the moment
Equal length shafts are also looking more likely required, however it's a hoot to drive!

I have one of the Ebay "train" horns It's just a normal airhorn but much longer and ali rather than plastic It's much louder than any normal horn and a much deeper note than the little plastic ones, about the same as what you hear from a larger lorry
Mot man said it's legal as there is no db limit but could be inconsiderate if used inappropriately. Honestly I forgot it was there I think i've used it twice or something, but it's the only horn on the car
Why no truck type horns ? People certainly hear it

Well that's what I'm hoping, it was a fair distance away so I'll need to sell the engine and box the recoupe the cash, it also has a big webber on it. sprayed a load of oil in the bores and got it cranking over well on the starter, not getting a spark at the moment though put a lead on the coil and I get a weak looking spark when I open the points, the center pin in the dizzy cap is loose and looks like it's missing a spring or something So I think put a dizzy cap on it and a condenser and it'll probably run!

Needed a 3.9 ratio rear diff for the main gears and casing, they only came on the 1275 cars so people are asking good money just for an open diff. Not my style so bought a whole car instead Had been parked on a driveway for a good number of years, last taxed 2006, bought unseen with just a couple of pics. To my surprise it's not seized! looks to be nicely modded, big carb so the head should be worked on and have a cam I'd have thought. Patina !

Started looking at rads, midget rads are tiny and need a cowl that I don't have. Might as well use the space, pug 205 gti alloy rad

I'm keeping it in but in tube, helps to brace the shock towers. I'll be adding a frontline suspension setup with the avos, that can also have a brace added as well. Tacked in, not welding the rear tubes in yet as I may need to access the inside of the chassis rails to add crush tubes depending on how I do the engine mounts. Next job, throw a spare block in with gearbox and prop etc
